Yeah, things are a lot calmer in Toronto than in the whirlwind of the Olympic Games, but I just worry about jet lag. Is three days enough to overcome that crazy 14-hour time difference?? Then again, these guys are seasoned veterans. They've been all around the world and made countless adjustments. I guess I'm worrying about the adjustment time because my nerves are just frazzled about the upcoming competition :eeking:

To be honest, he would be much better off to somehow not adjust and remain on Toronto time to feel like he is competing in the evening. If such a thing is possible at all, because obviously it goes against the body's natural instincts.

I read someone speculate that Javi could already be in Japan with Yuzuru and Tracy and not have told anyone about it. Though, with the press out there, how could that not leak out?

Well Hielo Espanol tweeted yesterday that Javi would travel to Korea today, although didn't specify from where. But every other source so far said directly from Toronto. :think: But I agree that if they were already in Japan, that couldn't possibly be kept a secret. Not with the craze surrounding Yuzu.

What I think he says: He's tired after the long travel but happy to be there and looks forward to a great day tomorrow at the Olympics. He has been training really well and wants to achieve a great result. There will be a lot of pressure but he has the experience to deal with that. He hopes that everything will go well, he has been training a lot, and wants to show the great work they have done in training.

She also mentions the first practice (short session but he looked comfortable and left being content) in this daily recap video for LaLiga4Sports. "Strangest thing thrown on the ice for you? Female underwear!" And the face he makes afterwards! And when he's asked about sleeping, reading or watching movies in an airplane, and he starts to think and then blurts out "sleep! sleep!" I guess the memory of the Toronto flight came back!

His own coach, Brian Orser, thinks Javi is “our poster child for what we believe in skating – I say we, I mean Tracy Wilson and myself”. That's probably the biggest and most meaningful compliment a coach can give to an athlete. :yes:

Great that Javi has arrived safely!!! So many interviews, etc,. fantastic that he is so much noticed and that might give him more confidence actually, I think.

Javi had a good draw for the sp, only Jin to skate after him, doesn´t he?

Not the best practice session of Javi's life obviously. But hey, I've seen him faultless in practice and then do mediocre programs in competition, so I would be more than happy to take the opposite.
