Javier Fernandez

I have to say his style really appealed to the non-skating fans around me as well. Bras were thrown.

It was great!

Oh, what a short! Worthy of the occasion in every way!

Whilst evergreen is in Korea, the rest of our troika have assembled elsewhere to shiver with fear and anticipation. And this morning the rest of the house probably woke up early to our screams...

There were slight mishaps in the steps though... But particularly expected the PCS to be higher.

Well that was absolutely magical!!!

I'll drop in a few Twitter quotes from Dick Button after today's SP, just because... :luv17:

#1: "Fernandez - strong placement of the arms. finishes the move through his fingers. Secure and wonderful theatre."

#2: "The arms come out from the body and the choreography. A COMPLETE package. Strong upper body."

#3: "This is a prime of example that you cannot have Artistry without Technique and you cannot have Technique without Artistry. He along with Hanyu have it both, with Fernandez having the edge of a terrific performer."

I had to wake up too early this morning to watch the last group, but it was worth it! All of them were wonderful, except for Chen (sorry to say that I was kind of expecting it... He is young and he will have more Olympics to shine and be rewarded for his ambition).
I expected, too, one or two points more for Javi but, no big deal, the FS is more important!
What I missed in Javi performance was the joy that we could see in France last year with this same program, but it was awesome anyway.
Those quotes, Tureis...

What a long night is going to be for those of us watching the final in Europe!!:laugh:

Hi, rabid Javi fan here seeking short program video....Thanks to anyone who can help. He walks in beauty like the forest of the night.........

Stay positive, stay positive.... we all need to send him positive vibes and everything will be alright!!!! He can do this!!! Javi needs to get on that podium and he will.

Javi's such an old-school 6.0 cornball (and I love it) and I hope he hams it up and gives up that 2016 World's magic skate tonight - but even better =)

Dear Lord, may you grant strength and stamina to Javi for the free program tonight; let him skate with confidence, calmness, and freedom. We pray all this in your name, AMEN!:ghug:

I stayed up all night to watch the competition and I must say — I think I was more nervous than him!! When he took the ice suddenly mi heart started beating like crazy, and I was doing squeaky noises with each quad.
I will never make fun of my father watching soccer again, I promise
I loved the short!! I thought the components score would be slightly higher but all in all I'm very happy, it was a marvelous performance and at the end of the day I prefer people not complaining about him being overscored, so...
He has done Chaplin justice, just like all season. I have no words on how much I hope he can do the same in the long. He's in a strong position right now, but ice is slippery and I'm freaking out. I'm definitely not ready for watching this.

/Internal screaming
That's the worst part of the night- competition, not the late hour or the deprivation of sleep but the part were the only screaming allowed are internal!!!:yahoo::shock2::eeking::shock2:
Tonight, I'm gonna practice my "15M movement clapping style" :hpull:

Vamos Javi!

Javier's warm up went very well. It appears to me that he is in his game zone, relaxed and confident, all the jumps were well executed except the 3 A a little bit forward landing.

Javi, wish you best of luck!

So happy for Javi!

Feels like it's been a forever wait, seeing him medal. Still think he should have been the silver, but oh well. Still glad Javi medalled. :yahoo:

He touched the silver and a less nervous Javi could have had the gold today but, it was the bronce...
Congrats Javi! I'm so happy watching you there on the podium!!
You did it, you medal at the olympics!!

YES! A well deserved bronze, if he didn't muck up his quad he'd have silver but still, an olympic medal for a 2 time world champ!

Javier Fernandez Olympic Bronze Medalist!!!!!!
I am so glad he finally achieved his dream, everyone can leave Sochi behind and focus on this as he writes another first for Spanish figure skating.
And this was also the best Man of la Mancha we have seen this season, hands down.

This was truly his last chance to get an Olympic medal and I'm so glad he finally did it. Funny thing is he nearly had bronze in Sochi and here he should have had the silver. Fine margins, well that's life. Still I'm so happy he put another result in the history books. Congrats Javi and hopefully you don't retire this season. I want to see 2 more seasons from you.

I was already in tears for Javi after his performance for his well-deserved Olympic medal, but I cry more after seeing the protocols for the silver that he lost :sad21: Thank you Javi for everything you have done for us!
