Jayne Torvill & Christopher Dean

Unfortunately, those videos posted by DorvillTean of Jayne Torvill & Michael Hutchinson at the 72 Europeans, and the T&D 1984 Olympic performance of the Paso Doble (with tech errors), have been taken down on the YouTube. In fact, her entire channel has been removed. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I think the OP of this thread and DorvillTean are both on FSU, OP, could you ask her what happened?

Hmmm....what is this special show the producers have up their sleeves if DOI can't go forward next year due to the virus??

The channel returned under a different name.

This is my favourite Torvill and Dean free dance. This was their last amateur competition win in 1984. Simply magnificent. I'm a lifetime fan of their skating.

I'm late seeing this post, but I just wanted to make sure you know there is a Torvill and Dean master thread on the second page. Lots of goodies there!

Hello everyone, I got myself a ticket to Torvill & Dean's Last Dance tour in Australia tomorrow

As I wasn't even alive in the 80s, could you give me links to T&D's must watch performances? 😄

I watched their legendary Bolero performance at the 1984 Olympics yesterday and WOW! Ice dance was so different back then, no flashy tricks but gosh the dance hold!! I don't even know how they could twist around so much while keeping their hold, my arms have definitely been twisted now

On my way out the door (to ballroom practice, not skating) so no time to look up links, but I loved several of their best-known programs that should be easy to find on Youtube: 1982 FD Mack and Mabel, 1983 FD Barnum, and in 1984 they had two great programs, their SP Paso Doble with her as the cape and him as the bullfighter, as well as the FD Bolero.

It looks like all of the programs you mentioned are on YouTube, as well as the 1994 Olympics and many of their professional routines. They were super innovative and are still impressive today.

Thank you thank you!!

I watched all your recommendations, and I'm in love 😍

I'm at the stadium now, can't believe I'm going to see them live in just a few minutes!!!
