Joshua Farris

I still think it's Josh.

But Mirai is definitely not in that photo either. So, your theory that Josh might have a flu or something is not that crazy a thought, golden411.

Actually Mirai tweeted something about going to a wedding at a zoo yesterday. So she may have that as an excuse.

I concur that's Zach, he's the only other guy at Champs Camp I've seen in other photos with some beard growth. In one of the Instragram repost comments, there is some guy who is a fellow skater (Andrew Austin) who insists it's Josh with a beard, but I think he's mistaken. Everyone else is accounted for, except Mirai, who will probably arrive late because of the wedding she attended.

He's got so many doppelgangers, first Jamie Wright and now Zach D. It's like playing Where's Waldo? LOL And speaking of doppelgangers, Ross Miner looks a lot like Jeremy Abbott in that photo, IMO. At first I thought it was Jeremy.

On a serious note, I do hope if he's still injured that he's going to be okay by the time Skate Canada rolls around. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Do you think it could be an injury that serious to still put SC as a 'perhaps'?

Pause!
Wait, what's happened with Josh? Is he injured again??

Recap of what we have been able to see with our own eyes since Josh was at Worlds (everything below has been documented in this thread):

In April, he performed at a small club show in Maine. In photographs after the show, his arm was in a sling.

This summer, he was seen in a video on World Arena ice without the sling -- giving a jumping demo.
On a separate date somewhat later, he was seen on ice as part of the coaching team at the World Arena summer camp.

Then ... less than a week before his Sun Valley show scheduled for late July, he cancelled his appearance. The SV website said injury was the reason.

In the Champs Camp group photo taken yesterday, most of us see no sign of Josh. (karne ;) would say otherwise.)

Bottom line:

We don't know anything about the injury (its lack of severity or its severity, for example) that caused his Sun Valley cancellation.

Don't know whether the old arm injury had anything to do with the cancellation.

It was TSL's repost of the USFS Instagram. I wish Josh were in the photo, but I too think the other skater is mistaken.

He also had to pull out of a show in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. While remember talking about it when it happened, in trying to find it I did find another comment about injury.

Coon Rapids Ice Center I'm sad to say Joshua Farris has sustained an injury and will be unable to skate in our show. I'm pleased to announce 2010 Olympian, World Competitior and National Champion Mirai Nagasu has agreed to skate in his place! - April 17

Thanks, Stitch. I did forget :hopelessness: about the Minnesota cancellation -- although I will add that the Minnesota show took place well before the videos that later showed Josh on ice at the World Arena.

(And it was a shame also b/c Mirai did at least one local interview that was early promotion for St. Paul Nats, which I think Josh would have enjoyed.)

Anyway, wishing Josh the best.

I am of the opinion he had an operation done somewhere in his body. That's the only logical explanation.

It could be anything - including something personal. Being that Josh seems to be a very private person, I say that his space should be respected until we hear from him, Christy/Damon, or USFS.

If it's really bad injury or he had surgery, we will eventually see an article about it on icenetwork - especially if USFS is finalizing who gets sent to which Sr. international Bs and Skate Canada is two months away. It will be here before we know it.

I'm still trying to figure out how you decided this was the only logical explanation.

So it seems he has a concussion

@USFigureSkating tells me that @joshDfarris is not at #ChampsCamp15 b/c of concussion and full recovery expected.

Poor Josh is probably lying on his bed in a dark room sulking because he can't skate. ;)

Not that I'm projecting prior experiences or anything.

Ouch! Concussions suck! I'm fortunate to never have one, but a number of teammates I had in cheerleading over the years had them and it's not fun at all. Can't do stuff until you're cleared, have to be careful of what you do...smh. I hope he gets better soon. And makes sure he stays injury free after he's recovered.

Avoid it if you can. It's really, really not fun, I assure you.

I'm sure Josh will be fine, and back on ice soon.

I have to say, as much as it's terrible that he has a concussion, and I'm really glad his camp is keeping him home and safe, I'm still really glad it's not more ankle/leg problems for Josh. He should heal fully from a concussion with a little time, but it's that recurring injury that really worries me so at least it's not that.
