Junhwan Cha

I feel like he and Vincent (+Nathan/Shoma/Boyang) are going to be battling it out in the years to come.

I agree that Johhny's comment was outrageous. Jun-Hwan is one of those rare skaters (like Yuna) who has both artistry and consistent technical content at a very young age. His skating is nowhere near "juniorish". In fact his SP gave me goosebumps during the entire thing. Maybe it was the music, but I think what's even more is the way he was able to command it and interpret it. I'd rank him just below Hanyu for the SP interpretation/performance quality of the night.

Still haven't watched the FS, but am very much looking forward to it.

Also, his exhibitions. I have yet to see a 16 year old pull of a gala to a music piece like that (in shades!). That was like a mix of Plushenko and Boitano in one exhibition. What a star.

Jun-Hwan reminds me of Shoma when he first burst into the senior scene. They’re obviously different skaters, but they’re similar in the sense that they’re both so mature when they’re on the ice. They’re both total package skaters which is an advantage that they have over Vincent, Nathan, and Boyang. I can’t wait to watch him perform his exhibition program in the gala (they better invite him).

they should invite him after all he is Korean

Haha I meant in the sense that they both appear so much more mature on the ice compared to the other newly minted senior skaters. I understand that they're very different skaters stylistically ;)

PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME! PEANUT BUTTER JELLY! GIVE US WHAT WE WANT I TRUST YOU JUNHWAN!!

On a more serious note, I am SO PROUD of him. He did what we all thought was impossible and got to the Olympics and even gave us 3 strong performances in front of the loving home crowd on top of that. May he be healthy and have an even better performance at Junior worlds!

Just realized jr worlds is less than 2 weeks away! Honestly speaking, he has a good shot of winning(assuming he doesn't get the norovirus the week before, again, lol). Good luck!
At this moment only Matteo Rizzo is more experienced but he has lower PB. So yes, Jun Hwan (fingers crossed) is on the best way to the gold. Foresee excessively handsome podium this year :luv17:

lol, nvm, looks like the entries list was updated yesterday and junhwan has been replaced. A bummer, since he has a good shot of placing well, but I do understand as it would be so soon after olympics, and he could use more time recovering from injuries before kicking off some serious training for next season.

No plans for WC? Maybe that's the reason of skipping JWC? Now he's got minimum TES for senior Worlds.

noooo i was excited to see him at JW since men a JGP wasnt exactly exciting this year but this is totally understandable

I can’t wait for our peanut butter jelly boy to bring it on at the gala!! :yahoo:
Have fun Jun! Have fun~

Jun hwan is ending his season, as he said he wants to rest for march due to his injuries(smart decision), and will return to canada in april to train. Get some rest and have some fun, kid!

Oh... I thought he was not going to JWC to maybe go to WC instead, but yes if he's still injured (and considering how serious it was since before GP season), it's better to stop for this season. He showed he has what it takes to become one of the top skaters, so health is important!
