Kurt Browning says he thinks he sees a comparison to Hanyu.... so that's promising.
I love Junhwan. There's such personality to his skating, and his jumps are huge. He started training with Brian partly to improve his jump technique and it has showed. I hope in the coming seasons he'll get more programs that really bring out the maturity he's capable of and he can show us his depth even more.
As to which jumps he has, off the top of my head, a great Sal, and he has been working hard on the toe and the loop.... I'm bad at remembering who has which quads.
Aside from having similar body types, natural charisma, and effortlessly gorgeous jumps, I don't think that Yuzu and Junhwan are very similar. Their on ice personalities and style seem pretty different. Yuzu has this wildness and intensity on ice, while Junhwan seems much more relaxed.
I don't think it's fair to directly compare them either, but I also realize how inevitable it is for such a young skater. At least he's getting compared to the best. But yes! Watching the two of them are entirely different experiences, and that's why they're so good.
) and they have a good coaching relationship. I also think that it's in the best interest of TCC to have a skater from a nation that's very likely going to be the next Japan of figure skating.
