Ian Martinez did beat Ten at Canadians in senior men today and Ian could be sent to Junior Worlds.
I think Balde will go due to having a reasonably consistent triple axel.
Although Ian did beat Ten at Canadians I still think that it is better to send Ten than Ian based on international results. Ten would have a much better start number than Ian for the short program at JW due to Ten having a better ISU ranking. Jeremy Ten is ranked #61 , Ian is ranked #74.
Kevin should make the top 5 countries part of the equation very easily to insure the 16 JGP slots for next season. The question is can we keep 3 JW spots next year by keeping the totals of the placings of our top 2 finishers at JW to 13 or under.
Special mention to Balde who landed the triple axel. Also Poirier who showed his incredible gifts in both dance and singles finishing 2nd in junior mens.
Will Crone/Poirier do JGP or GP next year? That is the question. They might do JG P if they want to reduce the travel air miles for Poirier because he will be getting 2 JGP's off the bat next year. Silver medallists in junior men always got 2 JGP's off the bat in the past provided they didn't age out.
