Kamila Valieva

Congrats Kamila for landing a 3A in your free Today, I was sure she could do it ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜€ and she did it ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘

Her bolero is just beautiful โค๏ธI also like her SP but I prefer her free. It suits her since sheโ€™s very flexible like a snake ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ˜Š
and itโ€™s a complex and difficult program. She needs to master that 3A like Alena did last year and everything will be perfect.

To me its right opposite. Bolero is good music for really abstract scenical dance performed by somebody as Maya Plisetskaya, but to me it absolutely dont meet requirements for music you have to skate on. It lacks flow, inner development of melody and rhytm on which you can based story of the choreography. Even Kamila cant do much with this. When I compared it with her beautiful SP, I have almost cognitive dissonance from it lol.
My wet dream of music for her is Liz Huett - Rainbow for SP and cut from Pachelbel - Canon in D for FP. That would be something...
I agree with you. Let's hope she gets a better FP in the future. One that suits her angelicalness and subtleness :)
For now, let's admire her strength โค๏ธ

My absolute favourite photo from Kamila's SP, by Mihail Sharov.

I think Bolero is a way to stand out amidst countless Carmens, Romeo & Juliets, Don Quixotes and other FS standards, especially numerous in an Olympic season.

Daniil's greatness lies in the fact that he makes almost his every program stand out and be memorable, while not degrading to modernism, to experimenting for the sake of experimenting. Even when the stakes are that high, he doesn't stick to safe options and delivers something creative.

By 6:45 am. She just said once: โ€œMary, let us work harder! There's more ice there before morning workout. "
This Interview changed my perspective on Kamila a lot. I used to think that her flexibility came naturally to her, and was just her natural ability. But now I see that from a really young age Kami was nothing but extremely hardworking to achieve every single trait that she possess now, whether itโ€™s her SS, her spins, her flexibility, her jumps.
Talent is 99% hard work they say, but still there are cases when things come easier to some then others. For Kamila, based on those interviews, I can see it was just her sheer determination and hardwork that got her where she is today. For a 14 year old, thatโ€™s simply incredible.

My wish is to see Kamila as the next olympic champion in single and Anna and Dasha as the next olympic champions in the team event.

It would be great to have 3 olympic champions because all these girls deserve it.

I don't remember it being spoken about
i hope she does, but i also hope that if she wins she will still continue for a long time. she has SO MUCH talent and so much to give to the sport. i know Alina struggled with motivation after winning the olympics, and i have always felt she still had a lot to give even when we last saw her compete a year ago. i would have wanted her to stick around through 2022, and Kamila will be the same age as Alina at the Olympics. i hope she stays.

I my opinion, the main reason why young ladies retire so early is the new training methods and techniques discovered and introduced by Eteri that gave so much advantage to Zhenya, Alina and the others, but couldn't provide them with the full potential, since they had to improvise and experiment in the field. New generations start training properly from the very beginning, and they gain even more advantage, while older girls lose motivation to fight knowing they'll lose anyway.

But this process is not infinite - we're not going to see 7-turn jumps anyway. At some point this progress will inevitably be saturated, after which the starting conditions (personal talents and qualities) will start playing a bigger role than the date of birth.

My point is, it's quite possible that Kamila is among the first girls that have reached this saturated level of training. She obviously has a great physique and mentality to start with, so I wouldn't be too surprised to see her in the 2026 or even 2030 Olympics.

I used to think that the limit has been reached, but they find a way to increase that limit by the minute.

I put nothing past Kamila or anyone else at this point. Even quintuple jumps are in play.

Just when we think we have the answers, they change the questions.

"When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong."

Still, I find it impossible to believe that the limit may not exist.

Even quintuple jumps are in play.
That's why I talked about 7-turn jumps, just to be safe. :)

Well, this post wonโ€™t age well when Kamilaโ€™s granddaughter hits the 8T in about 55 years. Haha

You would have to change the choreo quite a bit for this. Her fourth jump passage comes right after the third and it's meant to be an easy jump.

In the long run I was thinking of dropping one of her two triple lutzes and thus upgrading her 4T-2T to 4T-3T.

4 ultra-c:s. One in each of the first three passages and a 4T at the beginning of the second half. Her 4T is really that good.

I've been thinking something like this:

3A
4T-3T
4S
3Lo

4T
3F-eu-3S
3Lz-3T

Or is it too risky to have 2 combos at the end? Maybe move the added jump(s) to one of those 1st half passages.

So, here her repeated jumps are 4T and 3T. She is the toe looping queen ๐Ÿ‘ธ
Nice layout - I can imagine an FP like that. And Toeloop queen hands down!
Besides, does Kamila have +3lo combo? I never saw any instagram post of her 3lz3lo but I think saw somewhere that she has it in training.
If she does, we can replace 3lo with 3lz and 3lz-3t with 3lz-3lo, which would increase her bv but that would be a risky layout considering the combos are her weak point IMO.
