Kazuki Tomono

Well, what can I say... I tried to warn you guys, flopping at Kinki is a tradition for Kazuki 😂

I'm just worried about the nasty fall he had on the 4T. As long as he's healthy, I'm happy 🙏

ETA: I haven't watched it yet, but just looking at the protocol, I'm impressed by his recovery. Judging by reports, the 4T fall was awful and it's unsurprising that perhaps affected his concentration for the 4S. But everything else seems really good, including level 3/4 on spins and steps! That shows he has matured; in the past, he'd often mess up the spins after mistakes (or even without mistakes lol) in the jumps.

Kazuki Tomono (Uenoshiba Skating Club) started 2nd place with 69.92 points.

He fell on his quad toeloop at the beginning of his program "Happy Jazz," and popped his following quad salchow. In September at the Nebelhorn Trophy, he had made some jump mistakes, and it was in the back of his mind. "I had been thinking that I had been able to practice thoroughly for two weeks after the last competition, but I started my performance with a little bit of a bad memory of my short program in the last competition, which led to my mistakes in the first two quadruple jumps in this competition," he said.

In practice, he has placed emphasis on perfecting his program. Going into the free skate on the 10th, "I hope I can compete with confidence in myself, so that I can show what I have been working on in the competition. I think my current issue to face is, as always, to have a strong self-confidence," he said, switching his mindset.

Thanks for the translation!
Whoa Kazuki, don't steal my advice to Sota about the self-confidence ;)
Okay, so I was planning to march in here grumbling about the nice marks for Kazuki's spins, but I did the prudent thing and watched the video beforehand. They actually looked quite nice, with the exception of the second one. I was prepared for the rest.
Still looking forward to watching this program clean! And I'm not worried about Kazuki. If anything, I am wondering if he comes back with a vengeance tomorrow, or in the next comp :D Good luck tomorrow, Kazuki!

Waiting until after the Senior Women's FS event ends to post links to video from Day 3 in the Kinki Regional thread

But I was so excited to share Kazuki's FS performance that I decided to post a link here first

Thank you so much for this! :love2:
So it's true, he swapped the 3F2T and the 3A in his FS layout. What a power move!

I'm so happy for him, that was a wonderful performance and impressive considering it's still early in the season. I also read that he now has a company called Senshu Koki supporting him, although he's still searching for more sponsors:
