Kazuki Tomono (23) of Central Sports, who placed 5th in the men's competition at the All-Japan Championships last December and was selected to represent Japan at the Four Continents Championships, gave a comical performance filled with the sorrow of a rookie office worker at the Nagoya rink, charming the fans in attendance.
Tomono, who graduated from Doshisha University last March, appeared on stage again this day wearing a suit with a tie and glasses. His program dedicated to his same-age friends, accompanied by the lively melody of "Bills," was comical, with him lying on the ice looking at pamphlets, running in a hurry, and holding his head to show his worries. In the middle part of the program, he showed off Tomono's typical powerful steps, and ended the performance by falling down with his suit jacket on.
This program, in which he showed his characteristic entertaining performance, was also applauded at the galas of the Grand Prix series in Italy (Torino) and France (Grenoble), where he competed this season, and at the "Medalist on Ice" after the All-Japan Championships. His "Nagoya business trip" on this day was also very popular. For the encore, he performed a part of the free skate "La La Land," and responded to the applause from the audience with a smile.
