Thanks for the reports, everyone! I can imagine he's really tired, so hitting a clean run-through in the first day he attended practice is fantastic! It also seems that Hiraike-sensei is now in Montpellier, which makes me feel relieved

Finally, some very important news: Kazuki took a picture with Loulou the otter (Worlds 2022 mascot)
He told the Japanese press he knows about the association his fans make between him and otters, and he was sad when he thought he wasn't going to worlds, thinking it was a shame

His runthru was not perfect but his practice afterwards looked good. Apparently he learnt about Kao’s withdrawl after he landed at Frankfurt last week. Amazing isn’t it?

Fans spotted similarity in facial expressions between Kazuki and kawauso for years, in a positive way of course. He often receives kawauso toys as gift.

I actually didn’t know about that association with him. Where did that come from?

A few years ago he posted an IG story saying 'what's this?' and he was carrying a bag with an otter plush. Since then, fans started posting memes and side-by-side pictures of him and otters. Otters are cute and funny, so I think the association makes sense

Thank you much! I was going to post a video of this run-through I saw on Instagram, but yours is much better quality and with a better angle I thought his jumps looked excellent from the second 4T onwards, and it's great to know he looked good in practice afterwards, too.

As we expected, Kazuki is skating today in the second-to-last group (thanks CdP! ). He'll be the fourth to skate - I think this is a good slot for him. He skates at 2:44pm Central European Time.

I'll be keeping both my fingers and toes crossed for him. Good luck, Kazuki

I'm absolutely in awe of Kazuki today. Just, speechless. How, like HOW do you come on as a last minute substitute and skate like that? NGL I literally ugly cried when he finished, I couldn't help myself. I'm just beyond proud
