Kazuki Tomono

Lots of words come to my mind hearing this, but none of them are polite enough to belong in a fanfest :censored: Poor, poor boys who are in #4-9 Nationals top 10 and don't have a big skating sponsor like Kinoshita backing them up. Their Challenger chances are down to 2 events. I hate JSF.

Edit, just two Challengers from JSF's list remain. If Kazuki is to be at Kinki, there's now just Germany remaining where he can be assigned. And if so, we can only hope he doesn't go against Uno and Kagiyama. 😞

Quite strange, if Koshiro is going why aren’t they sending also Shoma?? Is there any remote possibility that the lists will be updated?
🥲 I’m so sad… Kazuki has always been a big star at the Lombardia Trophy

I'm not surprised, guys. Last year, Kazuki was one of the few Japanese Men that didn't get an Autumn challenger (Keiji was the other one IIRC). JSF clearly doesn't want to support him 😩

In other news, I'm now so happy Kazuki wasn't assigned to GP England... £300 for the whole event, and £100 per day on the weekend, it's completely unaffordable 💸💀

Good lord. Good luck finding spectators then. I get that ice rinks were hard hit by the pandemic, and the maintenance costs are skyrocketing, but if they charge too much for tickets, it may backfire on them and few people will come, because surprise surprise, people's living costs are also skyrocketing, and will make them think twice about paying that much. Why not sell tickets at a more normal price, and have a full venue, than charge ridiculous amounts and likely count the losses for a half-empty venue.

I'm disgusted by JSF and their preferential treatments. It's a disgrace that Kazuki may be without a Challenger for the second year in a row.

Those tickets are a little pricey  but still cheaper than tickets sold for similar events in the last seasons, IIRC the Italian Gran Prix last year was more expensive and, as a result, the venue was almost empty (but we were still under tight restrictions and the event was organized in a hurry).
I'm now monitoring the tickets for the final, so far the all event is cheaper than 2019 (that year Yuzu was there) but still too expensive considering that this is the first year of the new Olympic cycle.

I'm still hoping that Kazuki will get a challenger, Mai and Rika don't have a challenger either so they could be sent together to the German one.

I could also see skaters who don't make the Final being sent to some of the later Challengers (Golden Spin) to prep before Nats

Well, fingers crossed for Kazuki. And for the other 7 men who deserve a Challenger no less than anyone else, but have been overlooked by JSF so far. Why should the high level US skaters grab points but not their Japanese counterparts.

I don't know how often they assign to Golden Spin, it being very close to Nationals? I know there have been a few assignments, but very scarcely.
Speaking of Kazuki, his only remaining chances at a Challenger are Nebelhorn, and if JSF adds any later Challengers, then Zagreb. JSF never assigns to Kazakhstan and Hungary, plus Kazuki has said he would compete at regionals which overlap with Finlandia, and Warsaw overlaps with NHK. Graz starts 3 days after GP France, which is doable, but only 5 days would remain for Kazuki to get to Japan for NHK and get over his jet lag. Not very realistic IMO :/
Well, praying hard for Kazuki to get the Challenger he deserves.

I think it stinks for Kazuki. And I don't understand JSF's reasoning. He does not have a coach w any political clout and we saw how that played out last yr at RC and to a degree at 4 CC.

I am also in charge of Kazuki Tomono's page. He was calm and smiling from beginning to end, but when it came time to shoot, his concentration and switch-on were professional. In particular, the power to draw you to your own field is a skill that can be achieved through daily training. The sauna talk with Dr. Katsuki Tanaka was also great!
(Katsuki Tanaka is a mangaka and he's from Osaka, like Kazuki)

Check out these cute illustrations!

That ...outfit... is only acceptable in my books if it gets him a sponsorship. Justice for Kazuki. He deserves a Challenger, and he deserves a sponsor.
@Giu , I forgot to ask, will you attend Lombardia even if Kazuki isn't there? I think you mentioned you liked Kaori as well.

I like both Kaori and Wakaba but I don't know... I'm so conflicted:drama:...On one hand I don't want to waste lying on the sofa that Friday off I asked months ago, on the other hand I don't know if it's worth to go to Bergamo just for two skaters that are very likely to qualify for the GP final.
I'll write to the organizers to know the prices and then I will decide.
