The last 2 paragraphs: "At the University of Delaware, she is currently taking three classes: English, psychology and philosophy. She plans to major in exercise science and hopes to one day become a physical therapist and work with athletes. But that doesn't mean she plans to leave skating anytime soon, although the girl next door does have a fallback plan....

“I am going to try and skate as long as I can, if my skating takes me into the shows [and touring] for a while,” she said. “But my family has instilled in me that there has to be something after skating. Skating is what I do for fun but I also need to have something that will be like a job.”

Sadly, with the demise of COI there will not be much opportunity for touring and shows even for the U.S. Champion. Skaters arer going to need a plan B whether they like it or not.

Athletes should always have a plan b. I applaud her for concentrating on her studies. Its hard to do both and eventually something's gotta give but she is doing her best now.

This is a good article and supports the impression people have that she is a good kid (well young woman now). I was happy to hear she's an animal person. And realistic.
