Kimmie in commercials!

Well, all I have to say is that, in today's climate, to Kimmie for just wanting to look like herself. I hope she isn't pressured into more "make-up" as I believe she's good-looking enough to not need it.

Kimmie's commercial

RedDog,

Actually I agree, Kimmie is a pretty cute kid without makeup. It will be interesting to see if she does develop an interest in hair and makeup at some point.

The fact that she is a very attractive girl makes me think that at some point she will be approached to do some modeling. Perhaps that's when we might see her with a new hairstyle and perhaps some makeup.

being "attractive" is perception, not fact ;) as for the modeling hasn't she done some for skating outfits? Or am I confusing her with someone else?

Personally I think make-up is overdone frequently. Sometimes it's just refreshing to me to see girls who find they don't need to "doll up" to be attractive.

I hope that people haven't taken my comment about Kimmie out of context. Kimmie is a beautiful young woman and don't need makeup to show her true beauty but like I said in my previous post is that she should take more care with her hair (yes she is only 17 but a 7 year old can shampoo their own hair).:)

Kimmie's new commercial was on last night during Desperate Housewives. I just caught the very end; she was talking with Jarret. Anyone else see it?

 I hope this commercial winds up on youtube.

I dunno. I think she looks better off the ice than on it (and I don't think that way for a lot of skaters). It's definitely the long hair- when she pulls it back she just looks like a "cute kid". But with the hair, wow- she doesn't need ANY make-up to look great.

I've seen teh 'More meat' , 'less fat' commercial

I think those subway ads are lame, but hey there's one with a figure skater so I won't voice my opinion to Subway's site or anything lol

OK, I thought everyone was picking on Kimmie's hair just to be mean. But I saw the commercial last night...hmm.

These sponsors and their ad agencies spend millions of dollars, doing dozens af takes, to get everything just right. In particular, the sandwich looked beautiful (what do they spray them with to make them shine like that in all their mouth-watering goodness?) So you would think they could spend a couple of extra bucks to have a hair/make-up/wardrobe person on hand.

good lord folks...was it *THAT* bad??

I happened to see the commercial again last evening. This time I did pay attention to Kimmie's hair and I must agree with those who said it looked oily and need of a shampoo. Yes, her hair looked that bad!

The people who produced this commercial are at fault. If they wanted Kimmie to appear like she was just getting off the ice, they should have put a knit cap on her head or something.

I don't blame Kimmie for this because she probably had no control over how the commercial was shot.

I did catch it while playing back my dvd of American idol. if you guys hadn't said anything I don't think I would really have noticed anything. I don't necessarily look nor care about little things like that.

However, that said, I did find myself paying close attention to the hair and I agree with folks...it did look oily. however, not enough to raise a stink about it. kinda odd...

Red Dog, the reason that I raised the subject about Kimmie's unkempt hair in the commerical was to bring it to peoples's attention that it is just as important for skaters to keep neat and clean appearances off the ice as well as on the ice. There was a thread posted awhile back about Mira Leung and her unkempt appearance. In my opinion, Kimmie's hair style and appearance off the ice is not very presentable.:)

well just chalk it up to a bad hair day. ;) how many of these "celebs" out there have not had one at one time or another (including bad dresses, etc.)? whatever, I guess...

How is it possible that Kimmie's hair wasn't inentionally oiled back for that commercial???? It had to have been...here hair never looks like that at any other time.

I sure hope non-skating fans like Kimmie's commercial better than skating fans do, or there won't be many more endorsements for our star ladies.

I only saw the tail end of it but after all the complaints I didn't see any mess worth talking about.

Hairdos these days are so weird - unbrushed hair of all different lengths sticking out or falling in the eyes seems to be in high favor - that Kimmie's seemed relatively unobjectionable to me. At least she combs it!
