Konstantin Menshov

At the end of each season, Russia’s Konstantin Menshov finds himself considering his options regarding retirement or continuing to compete. Thus far, he has remained in the game in the ever-growing men’s world of figure skating. [More]

As early as last month, the veteran skater from St. Petersburg proved his success and placing third overall ahead of many younger competitors at 2015 Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf, Germany. Today, at 2015 Finlandia Trophy, Menshov even bettered that result and won his first international since 2012 NWR Trophy.

Here's wishing him luck and success at the upcoming GPs!

Loved his new free skate, great choice of music... and it was so good to see him on top of the podium tonight!

I would like to congratulate him too, even though having problems with getting into the music in such age is a bit too much.

I've finally had a chance to see Konstantin's LP, and I liked it very much! I was very happy to see him win gold, but TBH I don't understand why he lost the LP to Rippon. To be sure, things like performance and interpretation are in the eye of the beholder, and I can quite imagine that somebody may well have liked Rippon's delivery better, but I think that with such a huge gap in the technical content, Menshov had to sleep-walk through his LP to lose to Rippon on the second mark.

I am glad he won. There is always some sentiment in me towards old skaters. Late congratulations!

Hooray for our Silver Fox! :yay:

Come on, Kostya! I want to take a Silver Fox plushy to Boston just for you! (I wonder if you can get them? I will have to look.)

I actually looked for one for Skate America and the only ones I found were a bit pricey...like >$50 US.
