Ladies Long Program

Noooo! Yukari got 4th!!! If only she rotated that axel she could have been on the podium for sure!!! *sob*

Well done Mao though!! I knew she could do it!

Granny doubled 2 jumps I think.
Meier doubled her second lutz.
Yuna popped her second lutz.
Mao had a belly flop going into the 3A.

The ONLY clean performances were Lepisto and Nakano.

Well actually Lepisto since I don't think UR should count as clean.

Im glad Mao finally is a WORLD CHAMPION. Well deserved!!! Kostner, the underdog!!! Good for her. Yuna... sorry for her, she'll have to settle with Bronze, but she did her best despite her injuries. And she's got the gold for BEAUTY!!!

I thought that Yukari was going win the whole thing. That looked like that skate of the night.

Glad Mao won and Yu-na got a medal though. I don't get Caroline at all, mistakes after mistakes and still very high score.

I think you guys should study the judging system...and start understanding that sometimes completing all of your elements (or even doing less but with more points) yields better results...it's not 6.0 anymore...the clean performance does not necessarily win

Given the injury, Yu-Na must be happy with her results. Now if only she hadn't fallen yesterday, she could have won it all.

Not counting doubling or singling.

No hands down and no falls.

Alright, 5, count Asada out...

Well, as a Kimmie Fan I’m still focused on her. But re: the rest –

I didn’t see all of YuNa or Mao. But I think I’m still partial to YuNa – there’s just something about the way her body expresses the music that does more for me. Glad she won the free. I wish she'd finished ahead of Kostner who reverted to her usual sloppy freeskate self.

For some reason Nakano is someone I always forget about until I see her, and then I think she’s pretty good. Again, didn't see enough to know if she (and others) should've beaten Kostner.

Meier is a bit on the bland side for me, at least in this free.

Joannie – well, I don’t know what to think. I guess top five was good, but I sure would’ve luuurved to see her medal.

Back to Kimmie -- for the kind of 2nd season-half she’s had, 7th place overall isn’t bad. (A lot of us would’ve preferred she not have the pressure of competing here at all.) But OUCH bigtime at the freeskate placement.

I like her so much, I do hope she continues working hard and gets the jumps back some more.

If Mao hadn't fallen on the triple axel, she would still beat YuNa with the clean sp. I am so proud of Mao:clap:

This was a pretty underwhelming event. But WTH, there's still the Men's skates. If Johnny does not medal it will be none for the US since.......when? What about B & A you ask? Well I do not think they are going to medal. They will most likely pull up to 4th but will not medal.

One last note: I didn't think Kostner would be so high up. But I haven't seen the competition so I won't complain about the scoring. One would figure either Asada or Kim would be WC, with maybe Nakano playing spoiler. Good for the three of them, and also Meissner for hanging in there and keeping 2 spots for us next year. It will be an intense Nationals, that's for sure...much more at stake this time around.

Yup, I think 7th is pretty good considering all the circumstances. She also had two falls, so there's definite room for improvement to move up the standings. It would have been worse if she got 7th with a clean performance. I thought she did a beautiful job aside from the falls.

Her 7th and Bebe's 10th add up to 17. We weren't too far from 3 spots. Oh well.

On another note, I think the results should have been Mao, Yu-Na, and Yukari.

For the first time in at least three years I'm happy about the Ladies World Champion.

Yipee!

Dizzy

Personally, after the disaster that was, I thought Yuna to be the best of the rest and was kinda hoping she'd pull it out. oh well, it's nothing to get upset about or anything.

But then again, Yu-Na popped a jump and left out a loop.
I'm a fan of both and as long as they are both on the podium, I'm a happy woman!
