hwell: I suspect Leung was marked higher than Xu in PCS because she was about 50% faster. Leung had a lot of speed and power. She makes a better impression in person, much like Slutskaya does. On TV (trees), every line flaw and awkwardness is amplified, but in person (forest), speed and power provide a different equation. Depending on one's point of view, they are either compensating factors or over-compensated factors.
The protocols aren't out yet, and they're the basis on which to argue technical. Leung's spins were impressive.
and maybe not, and deserved higher. Let's look at the protocols.I have a feeling that the difference will be in the levels scored on some of Mira's elements being higher than Binshu's. Although it may not always be attractive, Mira could have legitimately earned that PB of 52. And although Binshu looked lovely doing it, she may only have truly earned her 48 points based on her element levels and PCS...regardless of how tidy and nice her jump technique may be.
Yu-Nam's PCS is also quite low.
You must be right. I must have been sitting in the arena and imagined Leung's power across the ice. Thank you for setting me straight. You must be kidding yourself. Although binshu xu is a little thing, she is definintely much faster on the ice than Mira Leung. Mira Leung is so slow and sloppy. I used to like Mira last season, but no more, I don't see any improvement at all. You'll be crazy to think Mira leung has more power. Her jumps are dead end, there's no flow at all. Xu has much robost jumping technique, tight in the air, very good height, and distance, beautiful in-and-out flows. Mira Leung's jump technique is just bizarre.
