I believe I read something about Lysacek WDing from a show due to injury, does anyone know more about it?
.
That's misleading, though, as skaters often debut earlier at Nationals than they do internationally. There aren't that many skaters who have been skating as seniors internationally for ten seasons or more, though I can think of some - Pang/Tong, Pechalat/Bourzat, Joubert, Plushenko, Verner and Kostner; P/T and Plush have been competing senior since the 1990s.What is the usual length of a skaters elite Sr career? 10 years?
Alissa started Sr in, what, 2001? Johnny in 2001 or so, Evan around the same time? They are over 10 years...
Jeremy since 06 or 07....
Mirai in 07 or 08... Rachael in 08 or so
I agree that skaters can grow and develop as performers over the course of their careers. As for Joubert and The Matrix - two full seasons (though he didn't compete on the GP in 2011-12) and one event in 2006. Or, stated differently: probably not as many times as Chan skated Take Five or Lysacek skated Espana CaniMany times the older skaters have more mature, pleasing performances. (but then there's Joubert-how many times has he done Matrix?)

Hoping speedy recovery!
