Maia Shibutani & Alex Shibutani

Congrats to the Shibs on their record-breaking SD!!!!! :yahoo: I look forward to seeing a better-quality video soon. Best of luck to them in the FD today! I really am enjoying their FD this year.

Now they have established themselves before USFA's eyes. Medal at WC and GPF. Best luck to 4CC.

I'm a bit upset that so many are more vocally expressing how much they want the Shibs to lose. I think too many people don't appreciate introspective and more introverted modes of expression. They like easily digestable themes and basic and easily understood emotions.

As I said, they want them to scream "FEEL SOMETHING!"

And here's the thing, let's say they do an "abandon-type program" and then they would be accused of being an inferior version of Chock/Bates. Keep being you, Shibs.

Especially when they are so expressive about themselves on their social media and YouTube videos. We know they are being their wonderful selves with how they perform on the ice.

Congrats to the Shibs on their 2nd Nationals title! :yahoo: I'm assuming they will want to go to 4CCs to compete against the Canadian teams once again before Worlds.

Well, I think some people really criticize to Maia and Alex and support to C/B now because is more convenient to have to C/B as rivals of their favorite team than to have to the Shibs.

So happy for Alex and Maia! And they still have room to improve. I'll be rooting for them at 4CC and Worlds. :luv17:

Yeah, everyone's just too dumb and emotionally shallow to understand the Shibs' free dance.

Gimme a break.

Anyway, the problem was that mistake of Alex, they have level 3 in the SeSt, I wonder if they could achieve a level 4 without that mistake?, C/B had level 3 too. And just after that incident they got a deduction (-1) for extended lift at the stationary lift, I guess they got nervous after the mistake :ohwell:.

However, I'm glad to know this is something they can control. It's not like they skated to the best of their abilities and lost the FD. These are little things they can work out even in time for 4 CC.
Congratulations to Maia and Alex on their second National title! Here is hoping they can keep the podium streak going for 4 CC and Worlds! :cheer:

Congrats to the Shibs! So happy for them. To bad about the little mistakes but it happens,
I am sure it won't happen again. Loved, loved their FD performance!:dance3:

She hardly said a thing about the Shibs since it was all Nathan Chen all of the time (such typical Marina hyping and politicking that you can't help but love it), but the one Shib-related thing was VERY interesting. I can't make my mind up on what she was telling Dave Lease with that raised eyebrow and one word answer of "yes" regarding whether the Shibs can learn to let loose and skate fast.
