If Anna and Aliona struggle this season Maia will not be a dark horse to make the Olympic team. And she's the right age which the Russian federation knows. I think you could see Sasha and two15 year olds on the team.

In reality Anya and Aliona don't have to struggle this season MK just could jump past them like AZ did to everyone in 2018.

EG does not play favorites so Maia has a real chance.

For sure. I remember back in the day TSL said Eteri will kick her out in a few month (during her first JGPs). Look at Maiia now.
She’s so confident, she’s got her quads, she’s looking more mature. She’s not giving up without a fight.
 
I enjoyed the first half of Maia's FS a lot! The music is so compelling and it makes you want to watch :)

The Roxanne part though...now I actually love this song, but the female cover is atrocious. Perhaps Russian crowds enjoy it, I don't know. But she still sold it :)

meh. TSL are useful in some ways, but I take what is said by them with a fair bit of salt.

I think Maiia is clearly one of the hardest working skaters I have seen ever.
Even before though, even with all triples it's unlikely ET would kick you out.

A couple of years ago I posted about Maiia, wondering what does Eteri see in her. But I also said that Eteri is not a dumb woman and I trusted that she knew best. And as it turns out, she did know best. It's great to see Maiia skate at this level and looking happy and enjoying herself.

Absolutely, hopefully she will have some international success this year, at least at GP! :cheer:
