Mao Asada

Sorry I can't find that CBC version of Mao's 2010 Worlds LP. I did find this though. At fsuniverse, rosewood posted this clip of Mao practicing the triple axel again.

Ahhh her best friend triple loop who had always been there for her all these years. Air position, the pop and delay, magnificent as always!:cheer:

But that entry in her 3A right there is so slow, i always feel like when she carries more speed she slays her 3A. :)

Maybe because it was just an impromptu moment? Perhaps she was bored and suddenly thought "let me just try a 3A 😁 and jump! hence the double-footed landing. It was great though imo -even with a slow entry- she rotated very fast and the jump travels far. I like seeing it from this angle 😍.

Yeah, her triple loop was majestic as usual.. 😁

guys lets try to talk about mao personality
although my reference only the video of her n some translated article
maybe someone fluent in japanese can give more elaborate explanation

does mao really stubborn person or she only stubborn about her 3A
to quote Mr Sato: I advised her not to do any 3A till she's in the perfect form with 3As. She had wasted numbers of competitions because of the jump. However, she wanted to do 3As for all that. She had worked hard to do 3As at any cost.

n someone at maofanforum said that in this article http://www.nikkansports.com/sports/news/p-sp-tp0-20150111-1420106.html
mao will have a new program, ohhhhhh

Yesterday's performance at JSOI.

Mao has been my #1 lady in figure skating for many years now. I have been so hoping that she returns to competition, but will love her all the same even if she does not. It is so nice to see her skating with such freedom and joy in this exhibition. I think the only thing that I love more than Mao's skating though is her hair! I mean, if Yuzuru could be voted to have the best eyebrows, then surely Mao has the best hair! She certainly would get my vote. I just love that she is leaving it loose to bounce around as she skates. Mao is so lovely inside and out!

I get the impression that Mao's only stubborn about her skating, especially the 3A since she had so many precious memories training for it with her mother watching. She seems to be quite chilled and easy-going about non-skating aspects. Rafael's recent interview with some anecdotes about Mao is illuminating: Like Michelle, Mao was so in love with skating that she isn't interested in anything else.

I would just like to requote my post in Chan's aim for 2018 olympics thread. :)

With his 3 world titles and an olympic silver medal, kinda reminds me of Mao, will he have the same fate in 2018? :D

Mao is also going to be 28 by 2018 i wish both of them returning next season going into Pyeongchang! :D

Oh well what can i do, i just can't get enough of her! If Chan can still do it, and so can she! :party2:

from recent interview it said that she is about 80% want to continue competing and 20% retiring. Too early to celebrate though I have feeling she might go back for a season and that's it..
I'm still not ready to hear her decision but hope she can choose the best path for her future :)

:cheer::cheer::cheer2::dance: this just made my day, even if it's not confirmed, it's still giving me hope, lately I lost hope of seeing her back on the ice competitively, but hearing this makes want to scream of excitement and anticipation

I am also not that ready but with how the season has started, especially the ladies singles, i have never been less anticipating ever. I'm sorry but its really not that interesting.

And who knows, she wins gold again on 2018 in her rival's home like she did in 2008 GPF. (10 years ago!!!) :cheer:

I am shocked. In a good way, of course. I thought she'd be half-half forever! Haha, just kidding. If she comes back, it'd be so great~ Aside from the Juniors, Ladies wasn't interesting this year, really... Ahhhh!!!!!

OMG I have just discovered Maia and Alex Shibutani's youtube channel and they're like making these short vlogs about the happenings in figure skating. And I'm enjoying it to bits! I love that they're showing more of the off ice moments. We get to see the skaters personalities more!

Here is their channel

And I am so happy Mao is almost in every videos. I love that she's so game with the other skaters and it seems like she really has that good relationship with them!

Mao vs. Liza: The battle of the Triple Axels. That would be something I'd like to watch.

Having said that, I am requoting again my post in Liza 3A thread:

Ito - toughest 3A to beat of all time

Asada's - most favorite 3A of all time

Liza's - Not a fan of her, not a fan of her skating, never a fan of her programs but although to me her 3A look like it doesn't have that much height, it is still lovely!

I wanna see her get more height in competition. Like this
