Mariah Bell

Bell's move to Arutunian pays immediate dividends
Skate America runner-up has sights set on making podium in Kansas City

Not much new here, but in these excerpts, she says a couple of things outright:

I attribute a lot of my success to Rafael's technical expertise and the training environment. We have worked a lot on refining my technique, and every day things improve and I gain more and more confidence.

I'm excited for the competition in Kansas City and look forward to putting two strong performances together. If I do that, I think I have a good chance to be on the podium, which would be exciting going into the next (Olympic) year.

Best to Mariah at Tallinn Trophy :yay:.

Thanks for the article posting; I was also glad to see the shout-outs to Rohene:

"Having Rohene [Ward] continue as my choreographer has been great and also made the transition smooth." and

"The program he [Rohene] has choreographed is so beautiful, and the pace is perfect. I'm gaining more and more confidence with the program and love skating to that music."

I'm pleased to see everyone working together. :)

I'm surprised no one has stopped by to cheer on Mariah after her AMAZING nationals :cheer:

Her SP was so fun, and the free was just exquisite

Can't wait to see her at 4CCs and Worlds! Go Mariah!

I'm in the same time sad and happy because Mirai had a meltdown, but Mariah goes to 4CC and Worlds. she is so elegant and when she is on she is stunning. I had a chance to exchange few words with Rohene and he said she is amazing as the person too.

As sad as I am for Mirai not making the team, Mariah really deserved this spot. She has a good season so far, and seeing her getting the bronze at Nationals was amazing. With Karen, it will good to see fresh blood going to those competitions. Not that I expect her to podium at both competitions, but it will be a great experience for her.

Edit: and Romain was, of course, very proud. ;)

Congrats Mariah! That was a great free skate and the SP was fun. Looking forward to see you at 4CC and Worlds! :cheer:

Mariah really is a skater on the rise. Her SP was so much fun and her LP is just beautiful even with a few bobbles. So glad that she will get to go to Worlds.

I was torn before Mirai skated her long program because I wanted Mariah and Mirai to both be on the podium and it seemed to come down that it would either be Mariah or Mirai. I was sad that Mirai had a bad skate but at the same time very happy that Mariah got the bronze. She deserved to be on the podium and her programs are wonderful. I had a chance to meet her briefly at Skate America and she was very nice and sweet, a great person. Cheers all the way for Mariah at Worlds and 4CC.

Mariah is scheduled to perform in the Skate It Forward show next weekend in Columbus, OH! The ice show is a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House. :)

Here is the link if you still want to buy tickets! Tickets are $13 and there are shows at 2:30PM and 5:30PM.

It would be cool if we saw photos/videos - hopefully they will be posted by Skate It Forward.

I see Josh Farris will be there too. That's actually a pretty good under the radar show. I'd love to see a video too

Pretty good season eh? Silver at SA and Bronze at US Nationals! I see they included her in the NBC Olympic photo shoot. She could steal a heart or two with a knockout performance. Hopefully she can build on momentum and create a path to Korea!
