So many picked up Yuzu, which I easily understand of course. I maybe a minority but when it comes to 3A as a jump by Men, I kinda like it with simple entrance, more speed, distant and HUGE like the ones in old days. Thus my vote goes to Han Yan among the current active skaters.

I'd much prefer 3As over quads. Always. I used to love Todd Eldredge's, Alexei Yagudin's and Takeshi Honda's a lot. I do love Daisuke and Shoma. And Denis Ten;;;; Patrick's was a beauty when landed, too. :)

In terms of overall mastery, technique, consistency, effortlessness, and impressiveness - hands down, this is Hanyu's jump.

But there are several triple axels that come a close second. Yan's and Kolyada's best axels come to mind.

This one from Joshua Farris (I know he's not current) is a beauty, especially the relaxed posture on the landing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpplrHXHmJs

In history; Ilia Kulik, I wish I see his 3A in person

Current:

Han Yan; he has made me drop my jar several times in person that none could. His 3A looks the most closest to Kulik's 3A to my eyes. Kolyada's 3A is nice, but the size is nothing like Kulik's.

Daisuke Takahashi since he decides to return, so he's active. His 3As beautifully matched to music.

Ah, I have to thank @chiburahakkai for this glorious GIF collection of Yuzu's 3A entrances from hydroblading+3A to 4Lo+hop+3A :laugh2:

If there are still any doubters...

Thankee! - that list also has the tweet with the 3A from a standstill mentioned earlier.... I mean, you just stare at it in amazement.

I know it's been a while, I seem to remember Jeremy Abbott having an exceptional triple axel.

:hslap: Ugh...@x\=%#... how can I evaaaa leave out Ilia for his gorgeous 3A?! :drama: who did steal my heart at Nagano Oly in 1998! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcEdneOh_Ew

Thanks for all the contributions! Polls are now up and ready! Remember, these are for active competitive skaters. Vote on the skater who has the best technique for the triple Axel.

Technique probably Kolyada.

Hanyu gets the same or higher GOEs because of the transitions.

Best Axel of all time though is hard to say, most of Mishin skaters used to have beautiful 3A for example.

Yes. Funny there is no Plushenko and Yagudin in the poll....:scratch2:

I am going to vote for Hanyu but gosh some of Han Yan triple axels from a few years ago were things of beauty.

No contest for me. Yuzuru's 3A is a thing of beauty. He can do it from spread eagle, counter, stand still. I'm not convinced he even still know how to do it with regular steps preceeding it. Heck he can't even do double Axel's anymore because it's so ingrained in his muscle memories.
