Canadian junior men's champion Parker Heiderich is preparing for his first full senior season with ambitious goals, new programs, and a fresh outlook on the sport.

In our latest interview, Heiderich discusses:

  I find this interesting.. Will have to see it. Glad he is not Odile/Odette
  
  
• Which Canadian men are you most excited to watch this season?
  
  Interested to see how Gogolev will fare in his sophomore year. Rookie season for him with his first international major championships (including an Olympic berth) was beyond any of my expectations. He was developing his musical and audience connections as well during the season. So he is my number 1 interest in Canadian men this season. I am also interested in Wesley with Patrick Chan's help and a healthy season, he could be very good. John Kim is my sentimental favourite. He has it all except experience and consistency. I have other interests which I will mention in the next question.
  
  
• Do you think Parker can make a breakthrough in his first senior campaign?
  
  I don't think so since he is still chasing the big jumps and there are so many men who are slightly ahead of him already. I am most interested in David Bondar and Eddy Vasii among the young guys graduating to senior this year. David has already stated his season and seems in shape. Eddy, well, all I know are 3 things : he is going to med school (bless his soul for keeping skating while doing such difficult studies) he w/d from CQÉ which I actually am going to, mainly to see him LOL.... and he is now registered to SGÉ so his season will start later this September.

Another up and coming youngster. I do love these features about the young ones, even one who's going senior. It's good to see there's more from Canada than Stephen, who did so well last season. I adore Anthony Paradis, I enjoy watching Grayson too. It's so pleasureable to 'meet' with them all in such features.

Well anyone who cites Jason as an artistic inspiration (as well as Yuma and Rio) obviously has good taste.

I did not know much about Parker until last year, but I was impressed by his enthusiasm, and I enjoyed learning more in this article. I don't know how much of a splash he can make in seniors without a solid 3A, but I hope that he is impressive enough that SC still gives him the the opportunity to compete, because I love the

Parker is a lovely skater, still a bit slow at least last time I watched him. He reminds me of David Shteyngart who also has lovely jumps, etc but no reliable 3axel or quad (yet?). We also have David Howes, Matthew Newnham (he does have a good 3axel and he is one of my favs), and formerly Gabe Blumenthal, Jack Dushenski, Matthew Markell and likely many more - great skaters, artistic, engaging and wonderful to watch. But to competitive, he needs more of course.

I am also a big fan of John Kim who finished 6th at Canadians. He moved last season to Orser’s group and I think (hope) really helped him stabilize his jumps. He has 2 quads and the 3 axel and IMO good SS and speed, so should be competitive with the top in Canada. I am very excited to see how he has improved since nationals.
