Men's Long

I should probably know this... but did Denis Petukhov choreograph both of Johnny's programs?

Congrats to my beloved Johnny!!!
Is there any way to watch his new programs??? I'm soooo eager to see them but I couldn't find anything on YouTube so far .... :frown2:

Denis pethukov did a really good job with the LP choreography i think, Johnny really shined. his talents where shown (powerfull yet smooth and gracefull). Jumps where there to, I think maybe some of the step sequenses where a little bit copied from the sp. But anyway IT WAS REALLY GOOD. powerfull music from yoav goren, i think maybe a little bit from: fallen angels routine.

johnny's golden again!!!
stephane will do better next time!!!

Nope, just the FS

ok that's what I thought :)

Good for Johnny! Everyone wrote him off this season but he's still young enough and talented enough to threaten for Worlds podium. I'm glad he was able to have a clean LP for the first time internationally in a very long time, and also beat Lysacek internationally again.

I didn't write him off, but I wasn't truly sure if he would be on his game... I'm honestly happy for him... you never want to see someone crumble and not make a comeback :agree:

Now I've seen Stephane as well. You know while some people have said that CoP affected Stephane, actually I think it has help him more than anyone, and this time was obvious. Fall on the quads and no 3a, in the old system would have tanked him to one of the last places.
But I have to say that, I mean if you get to see this program like editing the jumps, it is still a complete program, after each fall he still was IN the program. He has a LOT of hands movements, but they are very controled and he didn't lose it.
I don't know about his health, and I haven't seen that many times Stephane's program to know if this was normal, but his combos were planned in the loops and I imagine his other combo was supposed to be on the quad. So maybe he has a problem on the knee he lands some of the toe jumps? Because it would have made more sense that ha makes the combo on the lutz and on the quad.
He looked completely out of it on the K&C, there was a lot going on around him and he never looked up once, it was sad to see.
If he's injured, he should quit the other GP event he has and take care of it, I mean I don't think it's something about him not wanting to be there, because it was a good program....with the exception of the jumps.
Like Johnny he needs to work on the footwork, it's getting low levels for it.

but is the injury something he can fix? I thought his knees weren't going to get any better until he quit competiting?

Johnny! I'm so happy for him. :)
(it makes up for D/S loss a little)
Petukhov is a good choreographer, I hope we see more of his work in the future.

Lambiel should be completely embarassed by himself now, and I say that even as a fan. The way he is starting to look is inexcusable. He is making a fool of himself at the moment, he should go out there in a clown suit. I cant believe he is not only getting better again, he is getting worse and worse and WORSE. I cant remember the last time I saw an uglier and worse performance from any skater who was in the top 20 in the World, he probably should have gotten a score under 100 or something. He should either decide he is still serious about skating or quit rather then making a fool of himself like he is now. Right now he looks like a complete 100% fool out there, and as a former World Champion he is a disgrace at the moment.

Wow, with fans like you, who needs enemies? It's clear to me something is wrong beyond his control or will. I do believe he is injured and he needs the support of his fans, not for you to be ashamed of him.

I posted a link to Johnny's LP in the youtube thread. I love this program! Johnny has lots of Chinese fans! The girls were screaming for him all along. :)

Johnny....................................you've just made my day!!! Thank you so much!!! Welcome back!!!

Yesssssss! This is why Johnny is my number one guy.

Absolutely, a 3rd combo, a quad, and fancier footwork are in order ... but it's early yet. You don't want to spend all your money in one place, my mother always says.

WHEE! Johnny!!! Love the new FS and it proves what I've been saying since I saw Fallen Angels. Denis is one hell of a choreographer and he has a bright future ahead of him. I hope this encourages more people to work with him.

Oh definetly! Johnny knows this and there's time. Hopefully he'll make another good performance at CoR so he'll have also the GPF to to practice and make it perfect.

Question: Is Galina just training Johnny?

Fallen Angels was so beautiful but I do was wondering if he was able to do a competitivo program for a single, and he can. It helps a lot the fact that he knows Johnny enough to know what works for him

Have just seen it all on TV.

- Did the audience actually go boo on Stephane's score? Or was it just my imagination?
- I thought that pissed off look of Evan's in the K&C was just priceless. Lol.
- Yes, Evan fell on his quad, a mistake that made Johnny's win possible. After that fall Evan looked uninspired.
- As I was watching Johnny taking off for the 3L and 3F, I was close to fainting. But he landed those just fine. Johnny's now a living proof that you can win smth without a quad. He's scored a new FS PB, too. It's great, great, great. He needed this victory. He's worked so hard, he's been through a lot, he deserves this so much. He must be so excited and happy now! Congratulations, Johnny!

I didn't like his new LP though. Neither the music nor the choreo. But he did land all the jumps, one after another. Veni, vidi, vici.

Johnny is back and I couldn't be more thrilled. I'm so happy for him that his hard work has paid off. I really hope he builds off this victory and keeps working hard.

Congrats Johnny!!!

Johnny's win is enough to show you can win a GP event without a quad if the only other 1 or 2 top skaters who show up make mistakes. Lysacek had a small mistake in the short, and one big mistake in the long, and the unspectacular Evan has lower scoring potential then guys like Joubert, Takahashi, Lambiel to begin with, so that was enough to allow a quadless Weir to eke out the win; while Lambiel had a disaester all around. It is still a long way from proving there is even much chance to win a World medal without a quad. It is hard to say for sure, but there is a very good chance the 3 medalists at Worlds will all score 80+ in the short and 160+ in the long, and nobody without a quad will manage that, especialy in the long. At Worlds there will be all 6-8 contenders there, instead of just 2 others, so the likelihood of them all having enough problems to make it without the quad is much less.

The main thing for Johnny is to skate so well without the quad, and to do a much more COP-friendly long program then he has done for a long time. He has lots of time to put the quad in the program later in the year if he decides to.
