Men's Short Program

I prefer Joubert's program to Dakahashi's. I think Joubert's ready to be next Plushenko. BTW, does anyone think he has better twizzles than Tanith? lol

Brian Joubert
All For You

Maybe we'll finally see a clean quad combo. Go Brian!

4T-2T, nicely done
Gorgeous 3Z
I like the music, and he seems to have better choreography this year
Nice 3A, a bit tight on the landing
Nice fast low sitspin
Circular step to music, not as smooth as Buttle but fast, difficult
Nice combo spin
Straightline step...the audience is getting excited. Goes to music, very energetic
Final sitspin...a bit slow, but overall a great performance and the class of the field Partial standing O.

He's improved so much in the non-jumping aspects of his skating...I can definitely see him repeating as world champ this year. Obviously 1st, but by how much?

78.15 - 1st by FAR. Lower than Takahashi's score at SA last week, but a respectable number.

Less than what Takahashi had for his quadless SP. But Joubert will score more in the long, I'm sure.

WOW! This is now a 5-way battle for silver!

Looks like Joubert's going to walk away with this one. He has a huge cushion. The second and third places are going to be a dogfight though. That's where the competition will be. I really hope Buttle can put in a great skate.

see you tomorrow morning at 10:30 eastern for the pairs long program! same bat channel!

JOUBERT - now THAT was sweet as pie! Great skate! He realized that he didn't need the quad triple so he elected to do a quad double, making it look so easy! Skating like a world champion for sure. That footwork is soooo Kurt!

that was sweet...totally awesome!!!!!!! But - he does have trouble with his quad triple combos...so I don't know if he simply elected to double...but he sure did command this program and the audience!!! great, great, great!

I'll join you in spirit and wish i could be watching....I do look forward to reading everyone's comments tomorros night though!!!!

My guess is that his straightline footwork didn't mark that high, his circular was way more difficult.

Daisuke also had a level 1 footwork in the short. He'll fix that, I'm sure. But to overskate Joubert, he needs a second quad in the long, I'm afraid.

Well Daisuke's best FS is higher than Joubert's.

Yeah, but Joubert is still a world champ. If necessary, he'll do 3 quads in the long. I see he's about to have a second successful season in a row. The guy is possessed. I'm on Daisuke's side in this, but I'm realistic too.
