Is that the same Andrei Griazev that skated last week at Skate Canada?! Holy cow! He must have did some serious work in the past couple days!

Wow, Griazev scored eight hundredths of a point higher than Slutskaya! Too bad none of the other men can beat Irina.

Go Li!

MM

Well, I still don't know how Eman skated or Griazev. CCTV cut out before G and the later skaters. On the feed now, they are showing pairs, but first they showed the 3 Chinese men's SP. Grrr.

OMG...I just pulled a Doggygirl ( ) and spit my coffee out onto my computer screen.

So take this as a warning GSers...In order to preserve your screens, and more importantly, the key boards often located just below them, NEVER EVER drink coffee (or any beverage for that matter) while reading MM posts!

So...the top three are super close, how exciting!!! Go Li (ok, and Griasev, and Lambiel...truly)!!!!!

How great is it that Eman is not burried down in 6 or ???? I think that is a noteable improvement, right ? Go Eman!!!!!!

I join Emma in once AGAIN having to dry out my keyboard. :)

Hopefully they will show all the Men's SP's around 10:30AM CST on CCTV-5. That's what happened yesterday for the Ladies SP, so I'm keeping the connection alive in hopes they will show all the Men today.

And GO GRIASEV!!! He's on my Grand Prix Team for the Challenge. :) So he BETTER beat Irina in the LP too.

Ha-ha. Cup of Russia may end up being a All-Russia Gold Medal shut-out!!!!

On the other hand -
Lambiel might be 3rd after SPs but the margin between 1st & 3rd is teeny-tiny. Men's ain't over yet. I'd be VERY surprised if Irina & Navka/Kostomarov end up anywhere but at the top of the podiums. Russia already won pairs. So the only 'maybe' is Mens, the way that I see it.

Men's sp is being shown on CCTV5 right now.

Just got first skater. And I still say the Frenchman was entertaining! ABC/ESPN would never show the short program of the guy in last place. For those without streaming video, think techno version of Flight of the Bumble Bee meets 007!

Now Ryan Jahnke

They need to be able to do their entire skate, including their jumps, in a Biellman position. That's the only way they can score higher than Irina!

childfree -- hey! I SAID it was entertaining! It was the most interesting program of the entire day's worth of programs. Too bad the judges didn't like it. It was unique. Oh so French.....

It looks like Stephane and Emmanuel both had jump problems in the short, but Emmanuel even moreso. Stephane really has to look at his spin choices though, it is amazing that he would have 1.5 combined lower base value on the spins he chose than Griazev, that is crazy. He needs to choose some different spins for the short.

I love Chengjiang Li's Liebestraum program. There are a couple of places I wish he had more finish, but I think he skates it expressively, and that the spins and footwork are very well matched to the music. The 4T and 3A were huge, and I like the circular steps into the 3Lo.
