Message from Yu-Na about 2006/2007 season

I dont' care about the olympics but I hope Kim can stay active for many more years, She was easily my favorite at Tokyo.

I agree. Kim has a natural flow of body while it is obvious to me that Mao got a lot of coaching. Mao, though, is definitely the better competitor.

Why would you think that? They have similar results but Yu Na has been skating over many injuries while Mao AFAIK has been uninjured. Mao may be a stronger or even smarter skater than Yu Na, if avoiding injury is a sign of wisdom on the skater's part. (I guess more likely that of their coach.) But that's something else.

I find Kim (my favorite of the two) to have a more mature aspect to her skating. But Mao has more ease of the tech. Doesn't the CoP reward tech over PCS? None of this is absolute. Both are champions but I still need more to be seen.

I like both Mao and Yu-na. They would be the ones to keep me watching Ladies' event. Nice to have two such talented girls at the same age competing together and pushing each other to be better skaters instead of around:). We're lucky to have the luxury to have them both, and I wish both of them competing at their best for many years to come. Please don't ruin this good fortune by bashing one or the other.

The funniest thing of all is Yu-Na and Mao seemingly have the battle lines drawn at the very top, as do their fans, yet neither possess something that BOTH Meissner and Ando do. A world title.

It's only their first year at worlds. We can talk if they still don't have a Championship by 2009.
