2025-2026 South Korean Figure Skating

The Ice Tigers disbanded due to lack of support and interest, plus some girls were aging out of juniors and most likely to choose retirement
Ice Tigers, yes. funny. support... parents? school? KSU? interest... at winter sports festivals I see a lot of skillful little girls who clearly hate figure skating. if no one tells them that it's not just this and hockey... Korea could win a lot of gold medals if they didn't wait for the new queen. she won't come anyway because there's only one

It's probably too early to talk about it, but who is likely to get GP assignments in June?

It’s early enough that we really can only talk about the guaranteed spots.

Women: Jia Shin and Haein Lee guaranteed two (7-12 placement at Worlds, Lee was 13th but moved up because of Sakamoto’s retirement).
Chaeyeon Kim and Ahsun Yun guaranteed 1 spot from World Standings. Yujae Kim and Young You guaranteed 1 from Season Best, Yuseong Kim is just under the cutoff, so has a good chance of getting there too.

Men: Junhwan Cha guaranteed 1 from World Standings (Minkyu Seo is 1-2 behind cutoff here based on what we know about retirements/people sitting out the season so far, so has a good chance too).
