Michelle Kwan's Biography??

She's hardly old enough to have experienced a total life, The bio on A&E was totally about her competitive life. And why not? What else can a skater or most other athletes have in the way of a biography. (Basketball evening romances excluded.)

It wasn't total gush, so it was interesting, One does walk away from it with the feeling that she is a phenonomon(sp). Her devotion to competitive skating is unquestionably unique. Her chance of winning another medal at the Olys is possible - 3 Oly medals? Only Henie could do that.

Check out the times for a repeat. She looks so pretty throughout.

I really liked the biography. I never knew just how much the Kwan family struggled financially to keep the girls skating. Seeing this, I can understand more where Michelle's drive and work ethic come from. It was great to finally hear her brother Ron and her mother speak! It was interesting to hear Frank Caroll talk about the coaching split. I enjoyed hearing all those different people talk about Michelle - even Vera Wang talked quite a bit.

Joesitz is absolutely right, seeing this makes you understand just how huge the Michelle phenomenom is. It was great for Tom Collins to tell that story about the tour right after the Olympics. I had tons of respect for Michelle before, but after hearing all those interviews just increases the respect level for me. Michelle told the audience much more personal thoughts than I have heard before.

My favorite part of the show was seeing Michelle practice! I loved the choreography she was doing and wonder if that was her SP she was practicing. The ending pose did not look like what has been described about Bolero. She was wearing the same practice outfit that is posted on the USFSA site for one of the Campbell's practices.

I was hoping to hear something of her personal life, but that wasn't touched at all except a brief mention of her college experience.

I had the same reaction to this Biography, Lucy. It was well done and the info on the Kwan family struggles was very interesting and moving. The story about the Christmas tree was so sweet and revealing! You definitely get a sense that while Michelle really wants to try for the Olympic Gold one more time, she certainly is happy with what she has done already. I respect her even more now. She seems so genuine and down-to-earth.

Well I feel just stupid. After posting a thread about this, I forgot about it! Fortunately, there are reruns. Sounds interesting so I don't think I'll forget again.

Has anyone seen anything about Katerina? I thought they were going to run one on her this month as well.

I like it. I have it taped back to back with some old 2002 pre SLC sports centry program. She looks/sounds much more honesty here. The 2002's you have the feel of pretence. But this one full of honesty, and I just love her gesture on talking about 'ppl said you have to stay to win olympics. she said i'll stay to TRY to win an OGM' the emphasizing on TRY.

By reviewing the tape back to back, I can't imagine only little over two years she matured that much.

After reading all the reports of Campbells on Michelle Kwan's performance and the watching her biography, my daughter and myse;f are very inspired. Especially my daughter who shares so much similar cultural and living background with Michelle's, these certainly encourage her to work harder on her skating and keep her more interested on improving technique.

It was good but not very detailed. It would have been nice to hear about Irina and Maria and stuff.

Definitely! However, we did get Christine Brennan speaking quite nicely about Tara Lipinski. I had thought Brennan was quoted as saying Tara skated on a sugar high before this interview.

I guess it's how much one can get in an hour espcially if it's ALL about the competitive life. And she has had a LONG competititve life.

I loved it I thought it was really good. Most of the stories in her early years are told in her autobiography "Heart of a Champion"
