That could be my bad but I'm not sure-I basically cut or copy/pasted to post it here quickly. I may have moved 'adj' or 'noun' around by mistake.
I think Mirai is very attractive.
Mirai is a pretty girl and I'm sure she's considered quite attractive by many boys-including her prom date.
Her long arms and legs do make her quite pleasing to the eye skate-wise imo.

I'll shy away from using the word "attractive"but I agree, she is in good shape.
We all have our favorites and I feel about Mirai the way you feel about Kimmie.
Actually I think both girls are attractive but for me Mirai is cute, adorable and beautiful.
I lead cheers for Mirai the same way you did for Kimmie.

Hughes is anything but a favorite. On one hand, I do like the energy she brings to show performances...on the other hand, I don't like how she comes across. But that's a personal thing I have.

So your line is you are not now and NEVER were a fan of Kimmie, who for you is a hometown girl?
I go nuts rooting for TEAM USA soccer player and home town girl Carly Lloyd.
Seems pretty natural to me and I could never follow any sport let alone something like figure skating without having favorites.
I may currently live in Maryland, but actually, I'm not FROM Maryland.
ETA: with the exception of the big sports teams, I don't automatically root for an athlete just because he/she happens to be from my hometown. I have done so in the past, but it's not a given every time.

It's a very attractive, comfortable-sounding word, isn't it. I seem to recall Agatha Christie using it to describe someone...maybe Poirot himself. I can't actually think of any skater to whom the term would apply, of course!

I don't get why people are commenting on Mirai's weight; she looks the same as she always has. I like the way Mirai looks, she seems to me like a taller, longer Joannie Rochette. Both Mirai and Joannie look athletic and muscular - you can see their arm muscles bulging through. It looks so good and so healthy. Yuna and Mao look skinnyfat to me. That is, they are visually skinny, but their bodyfat percentage is high and their muscle percentage is low. It's probably not true, because obviously these women are muscular enough to jump into the air and spin three times, but just looking at Yuna and Mao's arms, it seems that way.
Perhaps Mirai looks a bit different, but it's hard to tell from a blurry video. If you're going to talk about weight, there are probably better examples, like Michalle Kwan post-Nagano, Emily Hughes, Bebe Liang, Rachael Flatt, Caroline Zhang for a period of time ... *shuffles away*

Asian girls typically have smaller musculature in relation to fat, and while there are some exceptions (Mirai, Miki) I'm quite willing to believe that Mao and Yuna fit this trend. Their muscles simply get stronger without building as much bulk. There is ABSOLUTELY NO way they have a high percentage of body fat, especially Mao. I have no idea how much thinner you want Mao to be, but she's already smaller than a supermodel or even a ballerina. Any smaller and she'd be getting skeletal.
On a different note, I can see the comparison between Mirai and Joannie, with one important difference: Mirai, thankfully, does not have Joannie's man shoulders.

It's so weird to me b/c Mirai doesn't look muscular to me. To me, muscular is this, this, this. Joannie is muscular all around, but particularly in her arms; both Kimmie and Emily were very muscular in their legs. Mirai's musculature is much more proportional IMO and it's more of a lean muscular, like Yu-Na or Kiira Korpi. There are defined muscles there, but they aren't bulky.

Nagasu has registered to compete at the Glacier Falls Summer Classic in Anaheim, California, August 5-7 (ETA: I've started an event info thread in the Summer Competitions forum) and she is scheduled to perform on The ICE tour in Japan from July 23-31.

Is anyone ever going to speak of her competitiveness? or is this about her body shape only?
I was waiting for someone to say this after reading pages of discussion on Mirai's body shape. I think the girl looks fine!

I have to agree with "Aunt Joyce" on this who after seeing Mirai for the first time in her "Kimono" dress declared her a "heartbreaker."
Kind of sad when "Aunt Joyce" is the voice of reason and many GS posters are sounding like first class jerks.
Odd that mathman, defender of "everything good" has not chirped in on this as he is usually quite outspoken about how slim Rachael is.
Just shows that posters who vehemently declare they have no favorites are not reliable in their fairness.
Geez, I think Mirai is not just attractive but pretty special in what she brings to the ice.
As Dick Button said in Vancouver, "Mirai is a spiffy girl." :yes:
I think she is that and more. Her personality on the ice might only be topped by Yuna or Laura. The others don't come close.
I have serious doubts about the sanity of posters who ask "how competitive is she."
Maybe such posters were asleep when Mirai won the US championship at 14. :think:
ETA: remarks about Joannie are kind of sad as well.
The sport needs more skaters like Joannie who is a credit to figure skating on and off the ice.

Speaking of Mirai's body, she once twitted: I told my Mom my legs are worth gold and she told me that it's unfortunate my brain doesn't have the same value.
