Miyu Honda

Miyu is 9th after the short program in the Western Japan Junior Sectionals. The top 16 will qualify for Junior Nationals.

With only the last group remaining, Miyu is currently in 2nd place, assuring that she will qualify for Japan Junior Nationals.

Younger sister Sara has also qualified by virtue of her 2nd place in Japan Novice competition. I believe that this will be the first time that two Honda sisters will have ever competed in the same competition?

Miyu will be the final skater (number 30) during tonight's free program at Japan Junior Nationals. Younger sister Sara will be 20th.

Miyu is ninth after the short. So she will likely make the live broadcast for tomorrow's free!

Sara is 23rd after falling on her triple lutz and failing to execute a combination, but she will still progress to the free.

Matching her season's best in the free would have qualified her for Nationals...but it just wasn't meant to be.

She dedicated a lot more time to skating this year. If she does the same next year, she definitely has the potential to get to that level.

Japanese Jrs are getting more tougher each year. I think if she is serious about making it to nationals she could focus solely on skating for a year or two..
