Nathan Chen

Yay what a happy Friday with his new beautiful yet sassy ex in a song I like and then now we have both programs available on YT life is good! I saw this user having lots of Worlds videos but most were turned private, she has some good stuff.

I think I can go watch that Bolero segment from Nathan for 5 hours straight now. He just moves like such a dancer compared to the rest of them. Can we please please please get more classical programs from him? For some reason when he does classical his posture problem disappears and his lines are simply sublime. He’s so natural in it.

I agree, I now really would love to see another classical program from Nathan. I think his posture in this ex looks worse than it actually is though, because his white shirt is bunching up on his shoulders as he skates.
I vote for the return of Chopin Piano Concerto no.1, op.11, I'm being serious here💕
That’s what I’ve been secretly wishing as well. I think it would be so interesting to see what the program would look like now he has better skating skills and power as well as improved movement quality and a bigger vocabulary. But I get the sense Nathan isnt' the kind of skaters who like to recycle programs so I think this will just stay as our wishful thinking.

I did the same thing! I was really taken aback by his presence in that tiny portion of the finale.

So wonderful! Worlds just ended and these skaters are still in top form traveling all over the world. I'm going to be enjoying these youtube videos this weekend. Maybe Nathan will be learning some Japanese while touring there. BTW, I heard he got into Yale but how would he continue training? Yale has a rink but there aren't any top coaches around there.

seems like it. I guess he packed light. and well, people were joking he's the king of the Macy's sale rack for costumes. :laugh2: I think he looks fine. It suits him to wear something like that to skate in.

Haha yes how about Nordstrom Rack. Since he’s 18 and frugal he will have ample of time to broaden his style which I may add, is coming along quite well. Still feels a bit weird saying this since I’m like nearly 10 years older but his hotness and swagger make anything work and still at least look good. Now he’s “back to the boy who would reach for the stars.”
I applaude him for putting out a new ex in midst of the busy schedule he has, it shows how much he enjoys these ex and like to be involved in the creative conceptual elements. We’re so lucky.

then I noticed him for myself as “mini-Patrick” … .. So it was a sign, heart can not be fooled) The moment when I would see Chen’s skating in a different light should have come. And it came in the short program of this season. Oh, boy, why am I not 17 anymore?)

before my crazy Nathan uber days (last couple of months:biggrin:). I followed his figure skating career casually, the "mini-Patrick" label is real.
you can watch his COR FS CBC commentary (last dancer). Kurt said his lounge is taken straightly out of Patrick textbook.

But this baby program of Nathan, really reminds of Patrick's style including Patrick fashion style, that plaid blue shirt.

@oatmella
you studied ballet before, there are some ballet moves both Nathan and Patrick has done in his figure skating. it is very interesting.

I don't think I became so crazy about Nathan😍until sometime after Nationals this year lol. aww, baby Patrick in the plaid shirt ! fs-gossip's favorite skater is Patrick btw.
Patrick used to be my favorite skater - though never was obsessed with him or anything haha. Patrick's Four Seasons used to be my most favorite performance:

speaking of Patrick.
I like him, although he is not my all time fav skater (which is Yuna) and my sentimental fav which is Nathan.

but Patrick holds a very special place in my heart.

I watched his Elegy in person (a perfect practice including everything even better than any competition outing) for the first time, I was blew away (not prepared), in-awe, just like many people including Nathan who has watched Patrick skate in person, they will understand what I felt. Patrick's SS is one of a kind.

Therefore my fav program of Patrick's will always be that "Elegy". Patrick has plenty of masterpieces in his career including your fav 4 seasons. I kr some other fans watched Patrick's Chopin in person and fall in love.
There are many personal reasons involved in which program is your fav

I think Nathan is way, way, way, way, way (ok I'll stop now lol) more balletic than Patrick. Patrick has some nice arm movement, but his overall fluidity in upper body can't compare to Nathan - jmo.

yes I am talking about a few ballet leaps male dancers do.
