A lot of Nathan fans are just kids - some as young as like 11 online
They can’t take Uber on their own lol

I only started noticing his graying hair last season--so just after turning senior?
I just can't get over Kellogg's flying him from New England to Arkansas just to meet half a dozen fans at a Walmart in the middle of nowhere. If they wanted to generate interest they could have just given out free samples. LOL

Basically normal 18 yr old guy stuff - he likes girls, sneakers and dogs
Honestly one of my funniest moments ever with my 5th grade ballet student
Student: Nathan chen went to my elementary school!
Me: you must mean Vincent - Vincent is from palo alto
Student: who’s Vincent?
Honestly most of the general population (and Walmart shoppers) don’t know who Nathan is - even not in Arkansas
I also thought at first the choreography is bad, but then I realize I was comparing to that of a Papadakis and Cizeron. If that’s possible...lol these skaters as good as they are they dont have the time to achieve that level of perfection in such a short time frame. JMHO
The nearly empty meet and greet at Walmart is hilarious (poor Nathan though!). There’s definitely some poor marketing here but (and don’t bash me for this comment) nathan needs to improve his fan engagement using social media if he wants to pull (or even retain) more sponsors. An Instagram story or tweet a day or two before the event and he will easily reach his 300k+ followers. Even with stars on ice, we need to rely on instastories from other skaters for our Nathan fix. And he’s one of the headliners! It’s probably not his obligation to post about his events but I’m sure if he does it will help with the publicity.
