Honestly, Nathan as a Olympic Gold Medal contender coming into 2018 OG, his training rink condition, training team size, and privacy protection is really not measured up to the skaters of similar caliber. In many ways, Nathan is atypical.

@yyyskate you should probably use another word other than stalking because it makes it all sound way creepier than you’re probably intending it to sound. Stalking is a criminal offense and extremely dangerous so it’s not used very casually unless fans are genuinely stalking a skater, which from what you’re describing doesn’t seem to be the case in general

yes not stalking, just kinda waiting in the hotel lobbies and hope they can meet some skaters, this is the most those fans have done. And more than often, they will meet skaters in the hotel lobbies.

I imagine they’ll be more strict about not leaking this year given his higher profile now. Being at Yale and them being pretty strict on protecting his privacy (this is according to some students) will probably help with that as well.

As much as we are crazy about him - Nathan is not the most high profile or ‘famous’ student to ever attend Yale. While things are different today with social media - Yale has dealt with Secret Service before ... I think Nathan will be ok there

I mean, I didn't live at the hotel, imagine my stalking level! jk, it was after Gala, so kinda all the skaters were there.
Nathan signed my paper he was veeeery humble, sure didn't expect so many fans around him, also was in a hurry and only signed something for me and one japanese woman then he had to go away quickly to get dressed and then came back dressed officially (in a suit) looking handsome
He was sooo sweet n shy n cute, I can't.

I took some photos of him in the suit but the quality was so bad I never published them lol So they're just resting in my phone's memory

Alsooo I was so fed up with Yuzu those days I was TOO LAZY TO TAKE PICTURES OF HIM, lol, though we were like 1ft apart. But some fans didn't have a chance to see Yuzuru close all those days so they even tried to catch Yuzuru leaving the arena on the bus. They all were on the 2nd/3rd floor balcony to watch him going to the bus lol (why bother if they could just go to the hotel )

Yea, I meant Yale is strict about privacy of any of its more public/known students in general so Nathan will have an easier time keeping things under wrap while he’s there.

What does Yale have anything to do with leaking Nathan's program music choices assuming that he practices at a rink 30min away from campus? And who besides Nathan really cares? It was crazy obsessive for Nathan to be so secretive about his music choices.

I kr, in 2016 worlds, Fans were also waiting Yuzuru outside the arena until very late, Yuzuru was the last one to come out and was escorted away and some fans were running very fast to catch up the bus.... That was really crazy!

Not Nathan related - but I will say that the only celebrity I have seen in a hotel lobby did not seem friendly AT ALL

I happened to see Conan O’Brien in a hotel lobby - was not ‘stalking’ him - lol - I was there for a wedding

I fell in love with Nathan sooo ofc Yuzuru was magnificent. It's just that at the Gala I was sitting in the first row above K&C so I saw Yuzuru very very close (his Swan costume oml! So close and sparkling) and tbh all my eyes were on him. Even when the others performed I only looked at Yuzu and took many photos/videos of him off the ice he was doing some stuff so it was interesting to record him.

But Nathan... well, he just stood there, warming up a little, so I didn't take many photos of him, lol.

So I think that's why I didn't want to take photos of Yuzu at the hotel so much. All eyes were on Nathan then. Plus, now I'm thinking of buying a camera cause my phone photos are only acceptable for ME

Depending on if he ever uses the Yale rink or anybody from the area also practices at his rink, they do have a skating club so I imagine there’s student that use rinks outside of just the Yale rink.

I don’t think it’s all that crazy or obsessive, I think he just wants to keep it as a surprise until he’s ready to debut it. Personally I prefer this than already knowing the music choices way ahead of time, sometimes I get disappointed if they picked a song I don’t really like and so my excitement for the program is kinda already meh before they even debut it [emoji23] If I know you’re skating to Moulin Rouge, I’m already rolling my eyes before the program is even choreographed.
