Yeah, that was weird. Johnathan's "I had no idea people around the world liked Nathan because another skater is more popular on twitter!???" really now?TSL in their new video (came out last night), sound surprised that fans around the world love Nathan. They claim that they had no idea. Of course...because they decided not to care for him, and his greatness!
He seemed to think the only people who liked him were Americans because Nathan's American and was completely shocked that he's so popular with Russian official/skaters. People in the comments had to tell him he's popular in Japan as well, which I'm sure blew his mind. Can you tell us the time that they said that? Apologies for being lazy and not being bothered to listen to them, yet still wanting to be entertainedTSL in their new video (came out last night), sound surprised that fans around the world love Nathan. They did alreadyYou'd think NBC would upload it but they keep removing it instead.
and they attributed the love/popularity to purely 4lutzYeah, that was weird. It’s no secret that Jonathan doesn’t know much about figure skating. Now there is another proof that he knows nothing about figure skating community either. Here is eurosport commentary https://www.eurosport.co.uk/figure-...rld-title-in-stockholm_vid1454299/video.shtml
Can't figure out how to save it, but a vpn will let you watch it. They liked it (of course). It's honestly annoying how difficult it is to find this program on youtube. You'd think NBC would upload it but they keep removing it instead.

So why is he acting up, when it comes to Nathan or Bell? It’s no secret that Jonathan doesn’t know much about figure skating. Now there is another proof that he knows nothing about figure skating community either.
Raf knows mistakes happen even to the best. Nathan hadn't fallen in something like 150 attempts in competition. He was due, as they say. That interview caused quite a ruckus this morning...Thought it was pretty interesting he said he wasn't surprised he fell but Nathan was.
Former skaters who were champions (e.g. Scott Hamilton, Brian Boitano, Charlie White, Kurt Browning, Paul Wylie, Michael Weiss) and know skating, rave/gush about Nathan. They love him. After the 2019 Worlds, there was a YouTube video with international commentators who were former champs talking about Nathan’s FS. Both Yagudin and Tarasova were in tears. Philippe Candeloro was oo-la-la’ing, Robin Cousins was ecstatic. Shouldn’t that be a clue that the international skating community loves Nathan. I think the Todd Eldridge interview may have opened their eyes to Nathan’s greatness. It’s no secret that Jonathan doesn’t know much about figure skating. Now there is another proof that he knows nothing about figure skating community either.
Actually Kurt loves Nathan’s skating. In the CBC broadcast of the 2015 junior men’s GPF, Nathan skated to Chopin’s Piano Concerto #1. Kurt was already gushing over Nathan’s skating and artistry (skating with an old soul). This was 15 yr old Nathan before he did so many quads and could focus on performance, I love this program. So balletic. Can I just express how happy I am? Usually after every one of Nathan's win, it is so bittersweet for me because inevitably there's an avalanche of naysayers about how crooked his win is. But this time? Like water off a duck's back.
The outpouring of accolades coming from the skating community/coaches/commentators have been amazing! Even Kurt Browning who usually never really have much positive things to say about Nathan's step sequence and artistry said it was wonderful for him to watch his performance this time. You can hear the genuine admiration and awe in everyone's responses for Nathan.
It made me realise what's truly important, and that's certainly not the opinions of random people hiding behind their keyboards.
Where can I watch the video?Yeah Kurt's always very complementary of Nathan actually - not sure how fierysky got the opposite impression. Even when he was asked who he'd like to work with on choreography, he said Nathan.
No, you're hardly alone. One of the reasons it's so easy to obtain video footage of Nathan's practices and shows is that he's so popular. He obviously doesn't have the following of someone like Yuzu, but just the fact that there are some fans who fly in from overseas to watch his shows and competitions is pretty wild for a male American figure skater. That is always so strange to me, it's like I live in a parallel universe. Within the circle of (real-life) people that I share/talk skating with (and they all have different backgrounds and we're not close friends and haven't known each other for that long either, so it's not like we influenced each other's opinions) everyone enjoys Nathan's style of delivery, the way he moves, his swagger.
Meanwhile many of the "usual faves" from Twitter or on GS, that I'm not gonna name, but you get the idea, are really not popular at all.
