okay guys, this is just for kicks and giggles knowing that we're probably going to get the same type of costume (if not the exact same) that Nathan typically rocks in competitions. if you had a seat on the table with Vera Wang in selecting what Nathan should wear for both short and long programs - what would you pick (pics welcome).

this is amazing! how long did this take you to do? I myself would not have the patience to do something this awesome. perhaps you can add a third paper doll of what you would imagine his nationals costume would be for both programs - assuming he's not also recycling costumes next week. Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I needed a fun project this week, so I made a little Nathan paper doll in honor of US Nationals coming up and I wanted to share as I don't have anyone in my offline life who follows figure skating enough to appreciate it haha

actually just re-watched Shang-Chi and the hero's costume could be a good inspiration too - actually a combo of the OST would have made for a good free skate for him or for the ShibSibs if they had still competed.I would probably have him wear the same silhouette as his 2016-2017 FS costume (I like the image the lower part of the shirt does when he does his quads)...
with color scheme (without sparkles or feathers coz we all know Nathan would shut that down) inspired by either of these:
(this is probably more palatable - with deep red and/or yellow tones with black accents)
or be really bold and do something like this (but not that bus seat cover looking pattern that he donned during the early Grand Prix season)

Lysacek: “There’s always kind of that one [program] that’s perfect, and the rest are not, and the one that’s perfect will win. And that’s kind of what I shared with Nathan. It doesn’t matter if it’s six quads, five quads, four quads or three.”

“Conversations were pretty brief, but just sharing some of the worries or things I have sort of dealt with over the past few years, kind of similar things he has dealt with. Kind of framing perspectives around the Olympics and how although it is an extremely meaningful event, at the end of the day, whether you win, whether you lose, you are still going to go home and see your same friends and families; still do the same activities. One moment is not going to define the rest of your life in regards to the Games or even just in the sport.”
Chen makes a habit of watching his competition. Not to scout, but for enjoyment.
“It is good to be able to watch skating,” he said. “Even if I wasn’t competing I would still want to watch. It will be exciting to see how everyone is doing. Will that really impact how I plan? Probably not. But it is still useful, I think, to sort of have an understanding of where everybody is at. But more than anything, skating is fun to watch, so I will be watching for that reason.”
