Nathan sounds SO happy when he talks about going back to college. That might sadden some people but it's actually awesome to see that he'll be ok living his normal life. I really worry about athletes transitioning.

Most of us know this is coming and it’s in his best of interest to do so. He already gave us plenty of joy. I sometimes I feel I am too spoiled with this level of consistency, quality and variety of performances to the extent it is so hard to get invested in another skater. I totally agree on the transitioning part. We saw so many elite athletes struggling with that. I’m really happy he has things that he is truly passionate and excited about outside of skating. As for his future competitive career, only time will tell but I trust him to make the right decision.

I think he could do Japan Open occasionally, with just 3 quads instead of 5. But OGM struggle to stay motivated after they win. He won’t have much time to train for worlds because of all of these appearances. I‘ll miss him like crazy if he retired, but it’s his life and I respect him for it. I’m grateful just to witness his meteoric rise from such a young age. The last four years have been a blast! Heck all 10 have been such a gift. At least I have lots of videos.

I found this interview to be a little disappointing, Jimmy clearly hadn't done much research and had no idea what to talk to Nathan about other than "COLLEGE! COLLEGE MAN!" But Nathan teaching an axel was fun.

Can I just say, I am sooo impressed with Nathan's patience with this media tour - all the repeated questions, if it were me, I would just be like - see my previous interviews! But he's always consistently gracious in answering the questions!

This media tour is why he can’t go to worlds. There’s just no time! OGM always have to make tons of media appearances and are completely worn out by worlds.
