New Surivior Show

Golly, the Ravu tribe almost won the immunity challenge. Rocky talks big, acts big but does nothing to help his tribe. I loved it when Yau Man beat up on the little girl but like he said a win is a win.

Alex is so frustrated with his tribe. Have these people never watched Survivor before??

Dee

Totally agree with you Dee.

Rocky is a hot head. He didn't help his tribe very much overall today. On that team, I like Yao, Earl and Michelle. Andrew's starting to grow on me a little bit.

On the other tribe, I only like the 2 guys who realized that it is not a good idea to alienate Dreamz and Cassandra. The other 2 women on the tribe were bitches to be so snobby - not everyone knows how to use a French press to make coffee. Whenever people come to my house, I have them make their own coffee - I'm not a coffee drinker and let them make it to their own taste. I'm sure Dreamz and Cassandra are feeling defensive and probably refused assistance.

There is a rooting factor for Dreamz since he grew up homeless. He's obviously smart enough to realize that he will likely turn over to the other tribe at some point.

Looks like there's a shake up next week!!

There will be big shake up on the next show Wed March 21
They remix the tribes, guess the producers got tired of seeing
Ravu getting the crap beat out of them every week
I was hoping they vote out Rocky he so cocky and into himself
just don't like him.
The coffee thing wouldn't have bothered me I don't drink the stuff.
But do agree the two that knew how to use the coffee press
would have offered to help the others, guess that trib isn't
as tight as they want everyone to think.

They are / were only 5 tight, but that could be in question.

Coffee press help -
Could have helped, but why? And sorry to anyone that hasn't used a press or does not know how - but please. That is not hard to figure out. ESPECIALLY for someone trying to win Survivor. Aptitude. I didn't hear her ask, just complain about the grounds in her coffee. Which that was not that bad anyway. If you don't know how to use something you...
a. Watch and see.
b. Look at it, "2+2=.
c. Rationalize - how else could you use it?
d. Ask.

And if "they" did offer help yet "they" did refuse the help, who does that really make the "bitches?"

I read (somewhere) that the only Survivor of the current ones who actually applied for the show was Gary. The rest were handpicked by people hired by the producers to find certain types.

I agree with just about everything in the last several posts.
The 2 girls on Moto who were so rude about the coffee thing, and also about giving such a cold shoulder to Sandra and Dreamz...IMO, that wasn't any game strategy, that was just plain rudeness.

What a heartbreaking, gut wrenching so-close-but-no-cigar loss to Ravu last night!

I was thinking either mouthy Rocky or mouthy Rita needed to go, didn't matter to me which one went.

It'll be good to see a shake-up...poor Ravu, they need something to perk them up!

IIMO, that wasn't any game strategy, that was just plain rudeness.
I thought it was cruel to make and drink the "good" coffee in front of Dre and Casandra. They were probably not offered any either.

Sorry Sean, but I wouldn't know how to use that coffee press either. Why didn't Stacy or Lisi just say.........I'll show you how. No harm in that.

I thought Alex was going to pull his hair out trying to explain why Dre and Casandra were important to the tribe. Boo was like......huh.....say it again??

Dee

First, Dreamz and Cassandra drank it first. They obviously felt like they didn't need anyones help.
I thought it was cruel to make and drink the "good" coffee in front of Dre and Casandra. They were probably not offered any either.

I bet there was the offer, likely phrased with a "do you know what to do there?" or "need a hand?" - Stacy, I doubt Lisi said anything - and it was denied. I believe that 2 were feeling ostracized and bitter refusing the help and the other 2 were not going to go out of their way to help people who are reluctant. It isn't girlscout camp.;)

Coffee with a few grounds in the bottom, BIG WHOOP! I have a few times had Turkish or "cowboy" coffee and it is just fine if you don't "have to" have the very last little bit in the mug.

Sorry Sean, but I wouldn't know how to use that coffee press either. Why didn't Stacy or Lisi just say.........I'll show you how. No harm in that.

DEE, you are not on survivor (hence not needing to possess the "puzzle solving talent" necessary on survivor) and I bet if you walked into a store with one and looked at it for a second I am sure you could figure it out. I am positive you could. I think Dreamz and Cassandra also COULD have, but they let their propensities convolute their rationality.

The only difficulty would be to know how much coffee - coffee drinkers should know water to coffee ratio. And here it is - the "your fault for not asking" vs the "your fault for not offering help."

I have drank press for a long time now, but the first time I had the press in front of me and I thought for a second, "coffee goes in, water goes in, screen goes on top (where else would it go if you want to separate the grounds from what you are pouring?) push down on the screen via the big old shaft now sticking up to put the grounds on the bottom and pour.

Now I am not saying that everyone should be able to figure this out - there are only two parts to a coffee press and it is together when you get it (minus the coffee and water) - but if it is in front of you and you are on a show that you are expected to solve a puzzle or two in the duration, this should not be beyond your capabilities.

I thought Alex was going to pull his hair out trying to explain why Dre and Casandra were important to the tribe. Boo was like......huh.....say it again??
Well if they can't understand that, they probably failed to understand the instructions of the coffee press. Stacy's look was fulfilled with "fine, don't want my help and now you are complaining about a small amount of ground in your mug? Not going to let their sour attitude ruin the game for me." Lisi I don't know, but it seemed selfrighteous in that she picked the right people to get along with.

The reaction could be a advantage or a disadvantage. But it got under Cas's skin - so be the game. I do like Cassandra and I am surprised how much I am liking Dreamz (especially after kicking Rocky's butt:rock: ) but Cas let it get to her, and IMO that is not a good game. Like Rocky's bad temper, not good game strategy to win.

I wouldn't know how to use a coffee press either, and to assume everyone else could figure it out on their own isn't fair.
And there were way more than a few grounds in that coffee Sandra had!!!

Sorry, I don't mean to not be fair. But how many have tried and failed? You are selling yourselves short - maybe what Cassandra and Dreamz did? - it is not anything I would ever put past someone on GS that had 2 or 3 minutes to look and assess. I am not saying you should already, but I know DEE for SURE could figure it out if she had it in front of her for less than a minute. She can figure out video tips I give her, she could figure out an espresso machine.:agree:

Most important to the post I stated...
- but if it is in front of you and you are on a show that you are expected to solve a puzzle or two in the duration, this should not be beyond your capabilities.

Considering the grounds I have had in my coffee at a greek RESTAURANT, or car camping, from a percolator, etc... I would say that is a very petty thing to whine about, maybe she didn't get her time on the king size bed yet. Yes there were a number of / more than desired, but is it really a big deal, or could she have been "the better" and just dealt and moved on?

The more I am thinking about it, the more I don't like Cassandra. I can see people being "snide" to each other with strategy to win, but whining (Like the last shows "Cas" did) did not show as being beneficial to strategy. Just petty complaining IMO.

You are covered in dirt and ..... yet dear lord your coffee has grounds in it. I wonder if Ravu is complaining about not having ... anything.

Again, this is NOT girlscout camp.

I hope this is all being taken as just fun disagreement. And quit selling yourself short thinking you wouldn't know how to use a press. I think it is that you don't know how NOT that you wouldn't know how.

Sean, I understand where you're coming from but Alex commented that he couldn't believe how Stacy and Lisi treated Dre and Casandra. He was there and brought it up, so did Edgardo.

As you say just a different way to look at it.

I was just about to post this, too, Dee. If there was no reaction from any other tribe member, I would just put the incident down to editing. However, it really bugged the crap out of Alex as at least a point of strategy. So, I think Alex's attitude confirms that Lisi and Staci have the greater part in this conflict. It would be very natural for Dre and Cassandra to react defensively if someone is deliberately making them feel they are not part of things. I think it would particulalry aggravating since Dre and Cassandra won 3 of the battles that were shown.

Poor Anthony, I wished he would have punched Rocky in the nose and then say to him ........is that how little girls do it??? I really thought they would vote off Rocky tonight. At least Dre kept his mouth shut (he's my pick in our game at work).

Dee

I can't wait for Rocky to go. He's just too obnoxious. However, the way the game is played, people might keep him around for final 2 because Rocky will probably alienate people and not get the votes. Wonder if they will do a final 3 again?

Oh, I just cannot WAIT to see mouthy Rocky and mouthy Lisi on the same tribe next week, things are gonna get GOOD. Lisi really is a b****, and that has NOTHING to do with "assertiveness" like I was talking about a few weeks ago; she just strikes me as not a very nice person. Her and Stacy during that coffee incident were acting like the High School Snotty Queen and her sidekick.

I'm glad to see Cassandra at least temporarily out of the line of fire (tho could she have KISSED BUTT a little more by bringing them coffee?). I do feel sorry for Anthony; he's right, it was pretty much just like high school. (Perhaps there should be a Jocks vs. Brains edition, tho they'd have to cut down on those Death Match 2007 challenges).

Am I the only one having a difficult time trying to pick a front-runner for this edition? Especially now that the tribes have been scrambled up, I'm hard pressed to choose who I think might win. Right now, I'd put it between Earl and Alex, but that could change.

I'm thinking Alex or YaoMan for the win. I tho't Cassandra was cute in her open admiration of Earl. Are they both single? They'd look good together & both appear intelligent & kind hearted.
