Notte Stellata | Mar 7-9, 2025

Nomura and Yuzu discussion of Notte Stellata became 2nd item generating most feedback received by NHK in the week when it was on, second only to an annual all-Japan basketball competition which is a steady hit each time it is on - source: official online report by NHK marketing department

Yet it was just a filmed (and slightly shortened) version of a radio talk that had aired months ago, not something completely new!

Yep! But it is fun to be able to see them and not just hear them.
I saw Japanese and non-Japanese posters on X speculating it was the number of requests from the public that made NHK put Mansai Nomura's show on NHK Plus first and now on NKH World Premium for internationals. And I have noticed and appreciated the times of broadcast on the latter have been carefully planned to make it easy to watch for people in different time zones. That's some really good planning for fans.
I still hope they put it on NHK World later on....

Here's the link and a little help screen for those who still need to find out where they can watch today or tomorrow.
The page is in Japanese but it translates well via the browser translator and then you just need to follow the instructions and select your region first, and the country in the second box. Countries appear on the list in a somewhat random - not alphabetical - order after translation (I guess the list follows the Japanese original) so you just need to scroll down patiently and hopefully you find what you are looking for. Then the respective operator(s)) shows below the boxes along with a link to their website(s). Good luck!

It was lovely to see Nomura-san and Yuzu at such ease, with such a great rapport. The benefit of TV version over the radio one is not just that you can see them but that you can actually see - at least to a certain extent, in fragments - what they are talking about - short parts of their performances both from Notte Stellata and from preceding events, bits of earlier versions of the programmes they performed at the show or referred during the discussion, but also fragments of the famous joint interview from 2015. And you can see how much especially Yuzuru has changed from that shy freshly-20-years-old OGM, to the great great star himself with huge media experience yet all that charm still there, and more!
Really well worth watching, even if you do not speak Japanese, especially that you can read the translation here - linked a few posts earlier - to be prepared :)

In his last Q&A with fans, Jason Brown remarked on why he was wearing his easily recognizable Riverdance costume for Notte Stellata while he never actually performed this programme there. Apparently, all the skaters in NS were asked to have costumes in different colours for the finale and Jason was specifically asked to bring in the Riverdance costume to - as he put it - "represent green" .
Thank you Jason for this little peep behind the stage :)
Here's the Q&A session time-stamped for those who wish to hear this (and more :))

I think that this was a general guess, as Yuzuru Hanyu wears his Believe orange costume without skating the program either, and so on, but it's nice to have a confirmation!

Reposting this great great news!!!
Notte Stellata 2025 DVD / Blue Ray and photobook has been announced !!!!!
Photo book reservations with exclusive bonuses start on Tuesday December 16, at noon, and Blu-ray & DVD reservations start on Friday, December 19, at noon.
More info in the tweet below.

A set of two beautiful photobooks - "Collaboration" given to Yuzuru-Mansai Nomura joint performances , and "Highlights" given to the whole show - are to accompany the Notte Stellata 2025 DVD/Blue Ray to be published in March and may be pre-ordered.

The Bolero photograph on one of the covers is truly breathtaking

Here's the close-up of the cover. Simply amazing!!!
This costume was a real masterpiece but the skill acquired to actually skate in it... oh, my!
I wonder if it would have been possible even for Yuzu without Utai and One Summer's Day, those fantastic programs skated in those beautiful and crazily difficult to wear costumes. Must have been a handy training for this.
Can't really wait for this DVD!!!

No one else could probably have skated the way he did in it, and no one else could have looked as wonderful as he did.

A beautiful take on the cover photo and the costume design from the Art Director Takagi Yoshiaki.

Akiko Suzuki posted a summary of 2025 on her Instagram and Notte Stellata looms large in it, featuring both Yuzuru and Mansai Nomura on the front page of her photo memoirs of the year!!!
Waiting for many happy returns !!!
As for me her photo with Yuzuru striking the Inori's pose for photographers at the backstage of Notte Stellata, in honour of them both being linked to the hit Medalist anime on D+, is still among my most cherished photos of FS 2025. So cute, always make me smile! Linked below. :)

I posted it in the 2026 Notte Stellata thread (and in Yuzuru Hanyu's Fan Fest) because it's associated with this year's show, but the photos are from the 2025 show; there's another photo book, the Bonus NTV one, with a choice of five covers, it can be preordered only until tomorrow January 7th (Japan Time).

I have posted about this broadcast in Yuzuru Hanyu's Fan Fest, without realising that it was quite as relevant here, the theme for this March Radiko (March 4th 7pm Japan Time) being, your preferred programs in past Notte Stellata shows, which includes 2025:

I must say though, that even the slightly shortened version of Ravel's Bolero they used, would eat up a big chunk of the half-hour duration of the broadcast!
