I’m currently accepting adoption applications via PM. The deadline is this coming Sunday, after Canadian Nationals are complete, mainly because I’m hoping for more of her ridiculous commentary to report to everyone here.

I would love if they name-dropped his networth like they did with Yuna Kim and Shawn White in 2010. Very curious over here...

Not sure about his net worth, but a recent Korean article said his income was over 2 million USD annually :yes: He limits the # of contracts he accepts so I guess this is a pretty good number for a male FSer of his stature. Though I'm always surprised he doesn't have an agent/PR management.

The article also included the annual income of other well known winter athletes partaking in PC as well. Curious how they got those numbers. :think:

I would maybe take some of these numbers with a grain of salt? but its probably safe to say that they're all bring in that 7 figure dough

Thanks for the info! He always seemed to have a limited number of endorsements to me, but the ones he does have seem lucrative and have paid off for his business partneres (who else can help sell out a $200 bluetooth toothbrush on Amazon Japan?). Although at least it seems that the products and brands he endorses he actually uses, at least he can afford to be picky. I wonder if they also take into account the sales donated from his autobiographies.

I have been wondering for long time actually if Yuzuru has driver's license now. Is it easy to get it in Canada? In Japan, we have to attend driving school and study the rule by the book and learn how to drive on the road in the school yard. (Parents and friends can not teach on the public road.) My friend got the license in America easier and cheaper, and transferred it to the Japanese driver's license when she came back to Japan. Does it work for Yuzuru if he is willing to do?

Mao has driver's license now, she drove by herself to the ice rink in the latter of her competitive career (and I don't have driver's license, haha)

The difficulty of getting a licence in Canada varies by province. In Ontario it's pretty straight forward. You do a paper test after studying the rules (available for free online or in a book format for <$20) and if you pass you get a G1. You have to wait 12 months to get a G2, but if you take a Ministry of Transportation approved driver's ed course you can cut the time to 8 months. With a G1 you can't drive alone but can drive with someone's who's had a G licence for 4 years (on roads) or with an instructor (on roads and highways). The G2 test checks your ability to drive and manoeuvre on roads. If you pass the G2 you can keep retesting at that level or you can go for a G licence. The G driving test is on the road and highway, and you need a certain amount of experience driving on major highways here to meet the criteria.

Yuzuru could do all that but I think his mom just drives. At least in the videos we've seen of him it's his mum behind the wheel of their van.

You're absolutely right! Thank you for the article, reading the part of the vision test, I started wondering again how bad Yuzuru's eyesight was but let's not go there here (we know he can't drink alcohol though) He is a super star, but still has many secret. He does not have any SNS account and became popular solely by his skating and achievements, and I think it is amazing.
