On Site Reports @ Worlds 2016

I can't believe it, but Im pretty sure I ran into Shizuka Arakawa while looking for a restaurant after the ladies SP! I was star struck

Nabbed a TAT autograph!

Love!!!

I have a close friend who trained around Tat and even went to dinners with her. They get all mad when I pry and bring it up but you better believe I do it regularly

Sorry if this is redundant but can someone tell me where can I find practice schedule for Friday morning and Saturday morning?

Thank you so much! Probably won't wake up early enough for pairs practice :(

Btw if I may bother you further, are the main rink and practice rinks at different venues?

I really want to wake up early for Pairs, but I probably wont  (by the way, are the practice groups the same as the SP groups for pairs?)

And yes, the Main Rink and Practice Rinks are different. You can't access the practice rink unless you have a golden ticket. But practices at the main rink are accessible with practice tickets from the all-event packages.

Is the order for men's practice, the same as the order that the men will be skating? i.e. 1st group will start at 9:30am.

I'm not there but from my experience in going to past events. I say, take everything with you. If you get too hot you can always tie one of them around your waist. If you're meeting friends. I can promise that someone in your group will be freezing and you'll be able save them by loaning them one of your shirts.

One more note for anyone who's lucky enough to be attending the event. Scream your head off for your favs but, don't forget to stand up for a group or new skater that you've never heard of. For some of them, this event will be highlight of their entire Career and they need your support. Go Everyone.....:cheer2:

Lovely thought .

So I've had the BEST time hanging out with Golden Skate folks all week long! There's still some time left before I have to leave, but man...it's been a ton of fun.

Thanks to everyone for amazing reports and comments. Really enjoyed to read them :) And happy for everyone who was/is there now.

Btw guys, I think this has been answered already, but at which hotel are most of the skaters skating. I'd like to visit and see if I can meet some of them!

Marriott Copley Place. :)

Sabinfire, Cleopatra20042004 and I stopped there briefly last night, it was SOOOO crowded. Great if you want to see skaters, not so great if you wanted a night cap, so we went to the bar across the street and another one that was close by.

I did manage to see Alexei Urmanov, Ashley Cain, Alexei Krasnozhon, Ivan Righini and Igor Shpilband before we went out.

They looked good to me! A couple wonky landings on throws, IIRC, but solid overall. Sui/Han looked shakiest to me of the pairs in the last two groups. :(

Don't worry. :) They will all do the best they can this day. Enjoy the competition and forget about worry.

Is that why there are so many empty seats? People are still waiting to get in?

Yes! When I left practice the line was all the way out the door, which extended down 2-3 flights of steps and 2 long hallways
