Original Dance

The dance field is the worst it has ever been. Quite frankly all these teams suck compared to the past greats of other eras. Some say judging is the problem in dance but it is really the teams. I have never seen such a terrible group of elite teams. None of these would even be in the top 5 in alot of past eras.

ALLEZ! yay....clean but that spin is killing me...yay! weak circ step though...but....YAY!:rock:

Watching the ODs I am definitely convinced none of the French, Russians, Canadians, or Americans would be a top 3 team in any era other then the recent one, and yet due to this lackluster field that is ice dancing now one of them will even be a winner or World Champion. That is pathetic. Ice dance needs to find more strong teams and a better field or it should be dropped.

Start the player. In the panel (on the right side) choose the 3rd bookmark (next to one called UCC)
THANKS A LOT! it works! but only one question: it looks like there are only small segments.. there is no fluent stream? or Am just clicking on wrong links?

It could be the speed of the connection, I mean on your PC.

Did you click on the pic with a caption "One Eyed Jack "?

I'm new at this daum thing too. And it keeps stopping all the time too. I guess it's like other streams, the longer you are connected, the less worse it gets...
I really hope so...

Compare 1992 field- Klimova/Ponamarenko, Duchensays, Usova/Zhulin, Gritschuk/Platov

1994 field- Torvil/Dean, Usova/Zhulin, Gritschuk/Platov

1998 field- Gritshcuk/Platov, Anissina/Peizerat, Krylova/Ovsiannikov, Bourne/Kraatz

None of the current teams would be even close to the top 3 in any of those eras, maybe not in the top 5. The current crop is pretty much a joke, they all are mediocre so it is like who is the best by default of a mediocre crop, none of whom are worthy of being the top but someone has to be by default.

I dont know why the dance field is so incredibly weak now compared to what it used to be. Maybe people arent interested in ice dance these days, I am not sure. The current field of second rate teams battling at the top is depressing though. I miss the days of strong ice dancers at the top, I used to love ice dance back then.

I don't like B/A's OD, but they executed it well. The first set of twizzles were really fast and sync'ed, they looked impressed even in slow-mo! Great score, they're deservingly in first. :) I also thought all the lifts were quite good. Tanith hits great positions, and Ben is very steady and fast in his turns and changes of edges.

one lift was similar to del/sch's final lift in the FD last year (the "cyclone" lift)
i was shocked by their twizzles the most...i also like the hat thing haha

For the espn360 thing, I found that it tends to break up when you first start it, especially if you click on the player for whatever reason, like resizing the screen. But if you leave it alone, after a while it gets better. It's showing replays of all the OD's right now. Hope you can get it working on your computer!

Well that was then, this is now :)

Yes, it's not 100% fluent, but gets better after a while.

It's free though. you can't expect much.

I clicked on the link with the "07-08 GP"...but it looks like, when I click on the pause, I could watch it but not in the real time but with no stopping...
