Oscar Peterson - Jazz Great - Gone

Canadian born jazz pianist Oscar Peterson died Dec. 24th. He was 82:

He put Canada on the map in the Jazz world and paved the way for performers such as Diana Krall. I always remember Oscar's music being played on the CBC. He will be missed.

Sad to hear. He was a great musician.

I saw him several times at the London House in Chicago during the late fifties.

I recall being amazed that his hands and fingers moved so quickly. One would have thought they were not attached to his arms; the movements were a such a blur.

I know to many "The Big O" means Oscar Robertson but "The Big O" will always mean Oscar Peterson to me.
