Ok...so now that we are all over the women's short...or are we...any thoughts on the pairs long? Can Zhang and Zhang keep first?

I think Zhang and Zhang will win....and I know that this will upset so many.

But I do have one question....with the US sitting in 10th and 12th...we will only have one spot next year? I am not quite sure how that works..I only know how they go from 3 to 2.

I think the magic number for 2 is 26, so if standings stayed the same, US would get 2 pairs next year.

I hope that Aljona & Robin can win.

Come on, and show what you can!!:agree::rock:

But I think, that it will be very difficult, because Zhang/Zhang are really good.

Total (placement points of two competitors, to get 2 entries in the following year, are "not more than 28" :)

Well i was on the results page of the ISU but now I have lost the page. It really stinks today!! Anyone out there watching...please give us an update...even though it's early Now i have it back. Funny thing it is says juniors......but it's the seniors. They are really messed up today!!

I'm watching on CCTV5. The second group is warming up.

Dominika PIATKOWSKA / Dmitri KHROMIN are in first place as of right now.

I thought the rules were as follows, or have they changed? (Taken from the FAQ page on Sandra Loosemore's wonderful frogsonice.com):

" Competitors who didn't qualify for the short program or original dance are arbitrarily assigned 20 points, competitors who didn't qualify for the free skate get 18 points, and anyone who finishes lower than 16th overall gets 16 points. There is now an exception made for skaters who have to withdraw in the middle of the competition because of injury or equipment damage.

For a 2- or 3-competitor team in the previous year, 1-13 points qualifies 3 entries, 14-28 points qualifies 2 entries, and more than 28 qualifies only 1 entry.

For a 1-competitor team in the previous year, 1-2 points qualifies 3 entries, 3-10 points qualifies 2 entries and more than 10 points qualifies 1 entry."

Yes, rallycairn, that's what I said---not more than 28 points for 2 entries--I posted it because someone had said not more than 26, so I thought I would give the good news that it's not more than 28. :)

I got my information from the ISU publication; I keep what I call "The Real Rules" lol in a notepadded excerpt, to save time looking it up.
