Look at that lead! Yay Darota & Mariusz.

Savchenko and Szolkowy's scores are unbelievable although I think they were a little inflated being Europeans. But if they had those scores for the Olympics, They could have challenged Totmianina and Marinin for the OGM.

This team has gotten better in every competition they have entered this season. They are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the future. They definitely have a shot at a medal at worlds and upsetting the Chinese of a possible sweep. The gold medal may be hard considering that still in my opinion don't have the artistry that Xue Shen and Hongbo Zhao does.

Maria Petrova and Alexei Tikhonov need to get their act together if they want to stand on the podium at worlds. Otherwise, They will be breaking a long streak of Russian pairs being on the podium. (You know what I mean?)

I am so happy for Dorota Zagorska and Mariusz Siudek for medaling in their home country. What a perfect end to a good career even though they have Worlds left.

Zagorska and Siudek brought me to tears. Not the most perfect or the most difficult but still gorgeous and they really deserved that medal.

The gold medalists were amazing. Amazing program. I've loved them since their Casablanca LP, I always saw great potential in them.

Aliona SAVCHENKO / Robin SZOLKOWY were right on. 3toes back to back and not only a technically challenging program but i liked their expression, especially hers. She is very flexible with good line but also powerful. They deserved the title. Perhaps i still prefer Shen and Zhao but their presentation far exceeds the other chinese pairs imo.Perhaps they can medal also at Worlds.

Maria PETROVA / Alexei TIKHONOV Good but not as good as ive seen. Got the job done and their program suits them more than other years. Classic pair, however seemed to lack speed and power at times. Enjoyed it but hope they go to Worlds and have more energy.

Dorota SIUDEK / Mariusz SIUDEK worried when they did not complete the 3 toes but otherwise very well done. Very happy for them to skate well in Poland.
I think they have improved in their unison . They always had strong pair elements especially lifts but now look like a real pair together.

Other lightlights for me were the Ukraine team of Tatiana VOLOSOZHAR / Stanislav MOROZOV . I didnt expect them to be so good. They were good both technically and artistically. Also Elena EFAIEVA / Alexei MENSHIKOV have good potential. Nice style.

That score is SO high from the Germans, but I'm happy for them winning Europeans and having the skate of their lives with no flaws. When they have everything in place, they are one of the three best teams in the world, without a doubt. I hope to see them challenge th Chinese in Japan!

Also, congrats to the Siudek's keeping it together under the pressure and skating so well! They were always a lovely team to watch. They prove that the most enjoyable programs are not necessarily the most technical or difficult. And their lifts are incredible! Their consistency and energy will be missed.

My god, Obertas/Slavnov just keep sucking. They need to split up and find new partners. And she needs to learn how to jump. In 2004, weren't they the next Russian OGM for 2010???
