PAIRS SHORT - Wheee, here we go!

I have not been able to figure out what station is airing all this right now.
Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hinzman and Parchem - he fell on sbs jump, but otherwise okay skate. Currently in 5th.

5 USA HINZMANN Marcy / PARCHEM Aaron 26.75 23.83 1.00 49.58

Now the Zhangs....

Wow places one through four (the three Chinese pairs and the Americans) are close in points. Tight at the top - and it sounds like everybody skated well.

Sorry Grgranny. It's not on tv here in the US yet. I'm watching the online feed for CCTV5, the Chinese sports station.

And as you would expect from the reigning World Bronze medalists, the Zhangs go into 1st.

1 CHN ZHANG Dan / ZHANG Hao 35.21 29.51 0.00 64.72

Although scores are only close 1 to 4. But the people in 5th place are more than 10 points behind the top 4.

I know!!! I couldn't believe how IRONIC that was. That Shen touched down and Zhao didn't!

It was kind of heartbreaking in a way. Because I really want them to make a run at the gold! I think it would be an AWESOME storyline. I mean, he was injured all this time and slowly worked his way back because this would be his last chance at the Olympics....

*bawls*

I would sooooo be crying!

Hi Jo,
I have Eurosport running now...but it's only audio. I hear music & have some
commentary....which is kinda weird for figure skating.

Do you have a link for cctv5?
Thanks!
Jane

Just saw the interview with Petrova/tikhonov, he seems like such a nice guy, I've never really liked them before, but they're actually starting to grow on me. A great short program..In fact, most people have done great programs so far, so happy for Pang & Tong, they were great!

I so want tooo see S/Z in the final group for the LP!! I can't remember, in pairs, do they do top 4 or top 6 for the final group??

Jane, you have to go to PPLive.com and download and install their shareware software. Once it is up and running, get the link for CCTV5 (I'm watching the 800kb feed). Needs latest Windows Media Player (or Real Player) and dsl or broadband cable (in other words, a fastfeed for streaming video)

Google pplive and use the translate page. Gets some clues for those of us who don't do Chinese.

Anyone know what happened with M&B. I was expecting them to be a little higher than that.

CBC doesn't start coverage of figure skating until 8 and I can't wait that long to find out!

Tot/Mar - another day at the office!

Sav/Solk - oh well, that hands down on throw triple really hurt score

BUT.......Rena and John.....YEA!!!!! they end up in 6th and in the medal hunt. Probably won't get one, but if they skate that well at Worlds?????

 Whoa.

I'm not surprised about the top 2, but after that...

I mean, S/S in 7th :disapp: , and I/B in the top 6  ? Wow. I'd love for S/Z to win, but I'm just glad they're there. I miss them, and I can't wait to watch it tonight.

looks like the Russians are on their way to checking this one off. One down, three more to go.

I don't think they allow 6 teams on the ice for any of the goupings. I could be wrong. Can anyone say how many to a group in Pairs (and Dance, for that matter). Twelve people in a warm up seem like too much.

Joe

just sad to see that S/Z won't be in the final group...a bit too much to expect to win the gold now..but so glad to see that their component scores were as high as the russians..ok almost..too bad about the mistakes though..Go China! :agree:
