Paris Shootings and Explosions

Aha, there are couple of countries who are very, very rich. For example, Qatar, one of the richest countries in the world. Or Saudi Arabia. Or Emirates. Or some Muslims living in the West. After all one of the aims of Zakat is to help with dawa and to help with jihad. And every Muslim is paying Zakat so some of these money go for this kind of purposes.
Unfortunately, some money may have been improperly channeled to help these terrorist groups. It was supposed to be for the needy :(

why do you generalize ? this politic is WRONG. Help to people running from war should be done in their countries, not letting so many unidentified people allow to enter europe. This is just like a dream for terrorists because they can easily get to europe in bigger group.

There's no evidence that this incident is related to the refugees yet. But I do agree with you that the terrorists are very likely to take advantage of this of wave of migration.

I think it's safe to say that most refugees are either running away from these very same terrorists that are ravaging / devastating their countries, or running away from similar/ worse circumstances back in their own countries, wherever they come from.
Please to summon a small amount of empathy to know it is by any means NOT an easy decision to leave one's own homeland where everything is familiar and seek refuge in a foreign country.
When people do, it means that they are desperate for a better life.
To blame refugees in circumstances like this is like .. i don't know, kicking baby after it's fallen down the stairs? @_@

But you know that you are becoming refugee when you enter first country war-free and you stay in it, and somehow most of this people wants to Germany, France, UK, Sweden. Just think about it. I am all in for helping true refugees running from war, but we shouldn't be blind for many things that goes with it.

Many people are dying in the world right now when we discuss, but no one cares for them sadly, but we are starting discussions only where big terrorist attack happens because this is easily to show for media by terrorists.

What governments are saying "welcome to Europe"? Each country mandates a lengthy process of registering, and the EU has been bickering for years about how to TURN AWAY refugees, not welcome them.

Secondly, the terrorists who are responsible for the Paris attacks are not amateurs. These were well planned, highly sophisticated, and tightly coordinated attacks, not lone-wolf incidents. They aren't going to be your average refugee risking their lives to flee to Europe.
Yes, to the second paragraph, no for the first paragraph.
At the moment there are about 10,000 refugees who are coming every week to Germany, can you tell me how Germans could check every one of them? In some districts (lands) there is very difficult situation, there is too many migrants and it is impossible to check all of them. The same situation is at present in Sweden.
What's more, only abt 30% of migrants come from Syria. Many of them come from Afghanistan, some from Iraq, some from Ethiopia and other African countries. And majority of them are males, 25 to 35 years old, only 2- to 30% of the migrants are women with children.

As someone who comes from "that part of the world"-Terror is about creating a disarray, leaving you frightened.
If you change your life-then they have won.
IMO, if the french police can guarantee the safety of the event-it should go on as planned with a moment of silence or some sort of acknowledgment of the shootings.
As this is not a politics forum (or Le Cafe), I will not share my views on the shootings.
My thoughts are with the families of the victims and the people that were injured.

Germany did. Angela Merkel declared they would grant access to every refugee from Syria and Iraq, then Hungary opened their boarders and thousands of undocumented refugees took trains to Austria and mostly Germany. In Hungry they found thrown away passports and papers of people from various countries who tried to pose as refugees.

The poster who critcized Europe's politics didn't blame refugees for anything, they said terrorists will abuse the current situation of refugees to get access to Europe. There's a huge difference.

And some certainly will try, it really doesn't take rocket science to figure out that the practice of open boarders is an open welcome not only for terrorists but human trafficking, drug dealing and all kinds of crimes.
Once a criminal sets foot in a EU country they can go wherever they please and no authority will ever know.

Excuse me? So many millions of euros and dollars? Are you joking?

"May". There has been a small suspicion about how money from various zakat and charities are channelled. It is just a suspicion but nothing confirmed. I'd hate to know if that was the case.

Not necessarily. Just because you get inside the borders, doesn't mean the country accepts you as a refugee and will allow you to remain there and build a life there. They may only allow temporary shelter, and often only in crowded unsanitary refugee camps.

My family was classified as political refugees when we left Czechoslovakia. We spent time in Austria and Italy before coming to Canada. But in those cases, we were only ever given temporary visas, and not allowed to settle in those countries.

There's no way you can check on every single person coming into a country, but what does that have to do with letting terrorists in? Even if 10,000 refugees weren't flooding Germany/Sweden and there wasn't a refugee crisis, real terrorists can still easily sneak into a country if they wanted to. Given the level of sophistication seen in these attacks, whoever organized them are pros.

Males leave their families behind and make the journey first to try to successfully enter and hopefully get their legal paperwork before going back for their families.

I think the real aim of all these terrorist groups is to drive a wedge between people and strengthen the us/them binary. Looking at some of the comments here, its seems to be working :(

Really ? They left women and children in war zone ? I thought women and children should run away and men should fight, but oh well... :scratch2:

Yes, it helps the terrorists recruit people to their cause because they feel targeted and ostracised. It completely plays into the hands of organizations like ISIS
Poor people, such a tenuous grip on reality they have. :(
I wonder, why Christians in the Middle East do not bomb and attack their neighbors when every day they got ostracized and targeted, their churches bombed and their shops destroyed. Why they do not start their own terrorist groups targeting their neighbours. Hmm......

Yes, you've hit the nail on the head.

They are not refugees. They are economic migrants abusing the system that's suppose to help the refugees from war-torn countries. I always thought by definition, once peace is returned to their homeland, refugees are suppose to return to their homeland.

I read this article that five of the wealthiest Muslim countries have taken no Syrian refugees in at all, arguing that doing so would open them up to the risk of terrorism. I found it somewhat ironic.

^Yes, men leave their families behind to make the dangerous journey first, and then try to bring their families over. http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/10/26/ten-borders
Hmm, so you mean that these 10,000 weekly migrants in Germany became 10,000x5=50,000 x53 (weeks in the year) = 2,600,000. And they will need to get accomodation, food, health services, lessons, (many of them are can not read or write) and so on and so forth.
Are you sure that Germany and Germans have money for all of them? And if not who will pay for them?
And that is not the end. There are migrants in Denmark, in Sweden, in France, in Norway.
But when Germany, Sweden, France, Norway close the borders these migrants will not stop coming but will have to settle in countries who do not want them, did not want them -- in Hungary, in Bulgaria, in Czech Republic, in Poland. And they will riot over there, but politicians and some people in the West did not think about it, did they?

The Chaos in the Middle East are largely created by powerful global politicians and players, nothing to do with us ordinary people, but we experience the "blowback". These countries and their peoples are but pawns in the great game of geopolitics. ISIS, Al Qaeda, they were all sponsored and supported as pawns to fulfill some of these political agenda, but of course they grew into their fully formed monstrous selves as they go from strength to strength and accumulated all the weapons and resources thrown at them.

We're told there are all these evil dictators in the world who must go but in fact, there is a strained peace and some semblance of normalcy in the everyday lives of the people living under these "dictators", people raise families, they work, they go to schools and universities, they worship, they live together with those of other faiths, etc. People who are securely anchored in their ordinary lives do not join terror organizations nor do they "hate our freedom".

The "dictators" are toppled, chaos and civil wars are unleashed, these vast countries become failed states, millions died and fled the brutality and violence unleashed, stateless lawless groups like ISIS fill the power vacuum and try to slaughter their way into legitimacy and power. The lives of these ordinary people are upended, they seek refuge for their families in safe havens such as our shores.

These failed countries need to be restored to viable states again in order to eliminate the threat from warlords and lawless actors, however, how do we get our politicians to do the right thing in our interest? Untouched by any of this, they follow their own agenda.
