Selfish selfish selfish people. Ruining it for everyone. They show the song and the artists. That’s enough in my opinion. They should be happy that they wanted that version. Not be in a hissy fit. They’re adults. They need to act as such and move on.
Back when I was able to find 2022 Nationals SP I checked to see what was shown on the graphics and, in fact, the graphics only showed the song and not the artists. I think the same thing happened at the Olympics and Worlds....the artists were not shown on the graphics for Knierim/Frazier. I think not acknowledging the artists on the graphics and not compensating the artists is what led to this whole mess for us fans. I'm not a fan of the Heavy Young Heathens but in this case I am really angry with the people in charge of making sure the artists are compensated and listed on the graphics.

Would going back to no lyrics music help?
I don’t think so, as I believe the music itself can still be copyrighted. Either way, that rule change would be an ISU thing and AFAIK, this is between USFS/Peacock, etc.

Ok WHO do we complain to? There’s someone at USFS who is in charge of this. I don’t want to bug Brent about everything. I don’t think this is in his wheelhouse.
Just a quick FYI, Brent is no longer working with USFS. Bad news for us. He was great and so responsive. I think someone is still "manning" his old email address.

Its not selfish for a band regardless of how obscure they might be to want credit and compensation to their work. The skaters and media group that were involved are adults and could have went through the proper process and avoided the whole mess.

this is ridiculous, not to mention their claim of skating coverage this season was incredibly misleading.

i just don't understand why it has to be SO difficult to watch skating in the US. absolutely ridiculous.

i hope some kind posters share links of unblocked streams elsewhere.

And I'm sure Peacock/NBC have an army of well-compensated in-house lawyers who handle their broadcast agreements. But instead of taking the time to properly negotiate streaming rights, they decided just to give up and ignore the problem completely by removing replays. If the lack of replays is a reaction to that lawsuit, it's the absolute laziest "solution" possible.

Fair enough. But this shouldn’t have to lead to no replays.

That's the either the incompetence of USFS or NBC Universal (i think that's who owns Peacock) in negotiating or not seeing the value in the additional financial investment for having replays available.

Maybe we should get a list of everyone’s email address. Nothing will happen unless we complain en masse (and possibly not then either, but it’s our only shot)

I’ve gotten copyright notices on no lyrics music when I post a no lyrics music video of a skaters program. That just means I can’t monetize it and any money it made would go to the original copyright holder. That’s different from getting a video pulled entirely due to copyright. Princes estate is notorious for this. I love a good Prince program but one Prince program has gotten many an entire competition’s replay to be pulled from YouTube.

And here I was thinking the settled lawsuit would make things better. 🙄

Of course not. I’m going to have to get a VPN.
Proton VPN has the Netherlands for free, I believe.

It's designed around security and is based in Switzerland. I use the paid version, but I've heard the free one works very well, and is certainly much better than most free VPNs.
