Polina Tsurskaya

the picture is recent? because Polina´s height is 170cm? right?

I think she was shorter then, but she is probably still around 160 on this picture.
Some time ago, ive seen a pic of her mom and her brother somewhere, he was a lot (A LOT) taller than her mother.

I would be pretty devastated if Polina had to stop competing due to health issues. She is so special and so talented. I just wish all will turn out well for her.

I think both. She has a disease or even several possible diseases that, in combination with sports, can cause new injuries. Or maybe because of the diseases/growth, her bones are weaker and it is more difficult for her to maintain a shape without getting new injuries and problems with the tendons/bones.

Right now, her doctors said she can jump, but she isn't doing it. She's trying to get the body more time to heal before the start of the new season.
But they both said one thing, that if there is a desire to continue. That she can try to do it. And she wants it.

It is good IMO that they are not taking risks, her health has absolute top priority. I don't really know what to say, as I'm just as horribly devastated as everyone else here that she has to face so many health issues. But she has so much talent, and her love for skating seems so genuine and big for me, that I still think we will see her back competing to her full potential. Even if it's not next season, she's so young and could easily come back afterwards too. All the best Polina!

ooh boy....
is it going to be "blame Eteri... She is a monster?".
:rolleye:
again.

Up to now my thoughts on Eteri were only that her training methods are reckless at times and not working any longer as soon as any problems arise. But after yesterday's interview - yes, to me she is a monster with zero ethics. I seriously hope that Polina will skate at seniors next year, achieve some good results and then switch coaches. Her body certainly won't survive the "factory" too long. And I think it was a mistake that she didn't change coaches after last year's JW. :noshake:

But Polina's problems are genetic and they won't disappear even if she changes coaches (and I doubt she will as she didn't show any signs that she is uncomfortable in Eteri's group). Her joints still will be weak and prone to injuries as long as she will be skating and jumping. Actually even after she was given green light from doctors to resume training she and Eteri decided to wait a little bit longer.

Poor Polina. She is so young and so talented but I doubt we will ever see 100% of her abilities :(

I think that not everything is as bad as try to draw some haters and a lack of information. Polina has appeared in ask, has told that at her now everything is good with health, about problems with a backbone a lie and she has started preparation for the next season. SP leave the next year, and LP will be new (LP very much was pleasant to me :( ). Interferes with her only one - to be ill at the wrong time.

Fresh photo of Polina.

From the sounds of it, if Polina has this disease which she'll have to live with it, she be better off training and adjusting for it. It means we may never get to see her live her potential 100% but I just hope she finds ways to work around it. At least she is aware and knows it. I'm sure she's in good hands.

So happy for Polina  She got nice events, I just hope she will be healthy from now on and will be able to compete well :sad4:
